Requires Wilderlands Rustbound

Wilderlands Rustbound removes the default loot drops from vanilla rust mobs (drifters, shivers, and bowtorn). That can lead players not bothering to kill them. This mod adds the loot back, as well as adding some small amount of loot to certain WR-specific mobs.

Using this mod does mean that it's possible to set up a mob loot farm around skulker nests and bellspires. If this disrupts your sense of game balance, don't use this mod. Although you can have mob loot farms in vanilla so I don't think it's a big deal.

  • Shivers and bowtorn are harvestable again and drop the same loot they would in vanilla.
  • Rustborn drifters have replaced regular drifters so I added vanilla drifter loot to them and made them harvestable. Rustborn drifters have had their very rare loot replaced with vanilla drifter loot. There are more varieties of rustborn drifters so I distributed the loot based on damage tier.
  • Baneflies have a 20% chance to drop cattails. No harvesting required.
  • Blightworms drop 0-2 compost depending on their age (although I think they're disabled currently). No harvesting required.
  • Skulkers have a 10/20/30% chance to drop flax fibers based on their age (young/adolescent/mature). No harvesting required.
  • Golems have a 33% chance to drop fire clay. No harvesting required.

I may adjust the non-vanilla loot in the future. There are other WR mobs that don't drop loot right now but I haven't encountered them much yet so if you have suggestions for what loot they should drop, let me know.

If you have Rust Drops also installed, shivers, bowtorn, and rustborn drifters will automatically drop their loot without needing to harvest them.

  • Fixed blightworms only have one type now
  • Fixed rustborn drifters not dropping vanilla loot. The newer versions of the Rustbound (I believe 2.0.0+) added their own drops to rustborn drifters but the drop rates were super low, which caused people to think this mod was the cause (my patch for rustborn just wasn't applying due to the change).

It works now.

Levioso So it turns out that Wilderlands Rustbound had added their own loot to rustborn drifters (which meant my patch wasn't working) but the loot drops so rarely that it probably looked like nothing was dropping from them. I changed my patch so it now replaces the really rare loot with vanilla loot.

Sev07 I just put out an update, if you're still experiencing issues after using it, please provide more details as to what's not working.

It's not working

Levioso I'm guessing they changed something about the mobs recently. I likely won't have time this week to take a look at it, hopefully I can get to it next week.

Doeesn't seem to work with the latest versions of Rustbound? I'm getting no loot right now.

LadyBlakeHammer Oh, if you're joining a server, that could explain things. The server would have its own mod list and if you're missing any mods or you have a different version from the server, it'll download the mods when you connect. But the server mods are saved in a different place from the mods that appear on your in-game mod list. That way you can have your own personal mod list without the server mods getting mixed in. So it's possible that you're missing a dependency from your personal list but your server list has it and uses it when you join. Does that make sense?

LadyBlakeHammer, Dec 5th 2025 at 12:02 AM

I forgot to mention, after my last comment. That it only does this randomly, so I think its a visual glitch because when I join my server, things run fine.

LadyBlakeHammer Sorry for taking so long to reply. I'm not sure why it would say Rustbound isn't installed unless Rustbound wasn't loading for some reason. I do see that Rustbound now requires 2 dependencies, Wilderlands Behaviors and Wilderland Lunarbound. Is it possible that those are needed but you don't have them installed?

LadyBlakeHammer, Nov 13th 2025 at 1:48 PM

Its saying I don't have Rustbound installed, spite of it being installed it updated a day ago, so this might be correlated. No error log, just going off of my In-game Mod List, and tested single-player.

Faeldray , Jul 29th 2025 at 8:18 AM

SleepyManti Are there any errors in server-main.log or client-main.log?

SleepyManti, Jul 28th 2025 at 11:31 PM

i am having problems during loading whare the text doesn't appear and the world doesn't load, is there any advice some one can give me.

Faeldray , Jul 26th 2025 at 8:32 AM

Hewholurks Shiver and bowtorn modded drops might work depending on where in the load order the mod gets loaded (and mod load order is a bit like black magic in this game). WR drifters are technically new creatures and I just added the vanilla drifter loot to them. So mods that would add loot to vanilla drifters wouldn't work for WR drifters. I would have liked to been able to automatically copy modded drops over to WR drifters but it just wasn't possible with the way WR is written.

Hewholurks, Jul 25th 2025 at 11:31 PM

Question does this also restore modded drops added to creatures like this mod?
