Latest release (for outdated Vintage Story v1.20.7):
valkyrnutritions_2.1.1.zip
1-click install
This mod introduces a stamina system inspired by Valheim, with an intention to give player an extrinsic reason to engage with different foods, rather than just chug red meat stews.
Protip!
Sitting down increases stamina regen rate without increasing hunger cost.
Changes from the base game so far:
- Replaced hunger system. Now you can't dies from hunger, but your maximum HP will be drastically lowered.
- Saturation is now a sum of individual nutrient levels, meaning you can't max out more than one at a time.
- Different nutrients provide different bonuses. So far there are: HP increase, Stamina increase, Stamina regen speed increase, Movement speed increase
The roadmap
- ✔ Basic stamina tied to nutrition levels.
- ✔ Removed vanilla hunger system. Now you won't be able to die from hunger.
- More varied nutrition effects
- Make exaustion affect more than just your movement speed. Bow accuracy penalty is one example I've got in mind.
- Integrate with Verticality, Combat Overhaul and other popular mods, that have to do with physical exertion.
- Possibly expand scope to introducing inventory weight system to insentivise using boats and mounts whenever possible.

The stamina bar came back randomly, I dont know what happened, *shrug*
Again though, asking please remove the stamina requirement on breaking blocks, digging up dirt is... pain.
Edit: Found out how to change the stamina requirements through files on my end.
SariN I've tested it a few times, couldn't reproduce. If it still happens to you, could you please send me the log files?
Double checked before I made a fool of myself, but no, I dont. just 2.1.1
SariN
Sounds like you got multiple versions of the mod loaded into the game.
Oh, latest version it kinda... The mods not functional anymore, the bar is gone, the /valkyrreset is gone, I'm not sure what happened.
Looks like its still functional, its just the bar thats missing now, can eat food at least too.
@HJVT would it be possible to (untill thats fixed) remove the stamina drain for block harvesting? Its very easy to have it happen when youre digging dirt, and leads to a lot of "ghost blocks" that are pretty frustrating to deal with
SariN
Meals work in the new release! The patch's pretty dirty though, likely to break if any other mods want to touch the same place.
Gonna have to look at block breaking some other time, desyncs are usually a pain to debug.
bah another issue found, blocks mined while having 0 stamina are "mined" but return after time and don't drop anything, rather than preventing you from mining the block in the first place.
Well shoot, any idea how long it'l take? (Dont forget slices of Pie too!)
Wahazar
A fine idea, gonna add it to the list.
SariN
Aw, shucks, Meals are hardcoded to interact with vanilla hunger. For no good reason, at that! It just uses the accessor on the BehaviorHunger to get at the same damn attribute tree. Truly, object orientation is a brainrot.
Anyways, gonna add that to the list of things I need to patch out from the base game.
Probably a mod conflict but: unable to eat food from bowls (assuming its because they only let you eat to your maximum saturation)
Does anyone else experience this issue or should I go digging into my log files?
Would be nice to have some nutrients (proteins? dairy?) increasing cold resistance.
Pankar
I think I've described enough.
For now, you can see how it works for yourself.
I will probably completely change most of the inner workings by next weekend, so trying to explain details of what this experimental code presents to the player in greater details feels like it would be a waste of my time.
hmmmm, looks very intreresting, but maybe some more details?
DAMN, thanks, i needed this!
