It's an awkward situation. 
When tule and brown sedge got adapted into the basegame from the old Wildcraft mod, they were taken in a very raw state. In fact, those were placeholders... And were never improved. 
These plants became a huge source of shame for me, and I tried asking the developers to implement better models and textures I provided later, but this change seems to be very low-priority. 
Thus, I decided to create this small mod to make tule and sedge look good and actually fit the visual style of the game right now :3

This mod does not affect plants' functionality in any way! It is compatible with Zippy's thatch/reed tweak mods.

Hey there, I have a mod that lets you grow vanilla bell peppers and someone reported to me that this mod removes bell peppers somehow (which messes up my mod as you can imagine). I did some digging and it appears to be a conflict with Expanded Foods. Specifically, this code from your mod in better_transforms.json...

...conflicts with this section of Expanded Foods, causing the bell pepper to not appear in the handbook and also causing crashes if you click something related to bell peppers in the handbook.

I'm not sure what would be the best way to fix it (maybe disabling that patch if Expanded Foods is loaded?) but I thought I'd let you know.
