Latest release (for Vintage Story 1.4.4-dev.2 - 1.22.1, potentially outdated):

Pretty simple really. Content mod.
Uses the existing locator map class and targets the "gates" ruin type, which houses ruined static translocators.
Locator Maps get their coordinates at the time of purchase, so the marker will be near the purchase location.

I'm about to try the mod, seems really good, Translocator Locator Redux is what I was originally using but that mod IMO is a pain to use and it's not explained well how to use it

chrisunfocused Ok thanks

chrisunfocused Is the cost configurable? Because 50 gears is pretty expensive if you ask me

ItsCheif The 'class' is just coder jargon, but your guess is correct, this mod adds a "Translocator Map" which you can buy from Treasure Hunters for about 50 gears.

I'm a bit confused what this mod does, does this add a "translocator map" that you can buy from treasure traders? Can I still get normal treasure maps? How much do the maps cost? Can we customize them? What's the range where a translocator will be located?

Description of the mod reads "Uses the existing locator map class", but the only classes I have in the game are: Commoner, Hunter, Malefactor, Clockmaker, Blackguard, and Tailor... Unsure how to get the locator class.

Maybe? I think the way it works is, when you buy the map, do you have the waypoint marker already?
It would be cool to combine this with a code mode that automatically marks the waypoints at the precise coordinates. That might be enough to workaround it.
I've only been able to test this once or twice in actual worlds, and I didn't personally encounter this issue, but it probably exists.

Nice Idea! Can it happen that the map leads to a translocator that has already been activated?

gotcha

I wanted to make it a bit higher to keep it balanced.
Locating a translocator also gives you the location of two ruins, which will be filled with items, as well as allowing you to travel huge distances.
It's also easier to find translocators naturally than finding treasure chests.
Once you hit bronze, it's pretty easy to trade tools to get gears.
imo Translocators are super powerful, hence the high price, but you can adjust it if you want here:

\assets\translocatormap\patches\survival-config-tradelists-trader-treasurehunter.json

"price": {
"avg": 50,
"var": 10
}

tbh idk why its not base game also i think it should be 25 gears or similar to the treasure maps but idk
