Did you ever have the struggle of a fully loaded inventory and have to stop your exploration trip to drop off the looted items in your home base?

Temporal Storage Vessel Teleportation adds a new way to send stored items back to base so you don't have to leave precious loot behind.

This mod introduces two new blocks:

Temporal Vessel
Like a normal vessel, keels inventory after teleportation.

Receiver Station
A destination block for teleported Temporal Vessels. A teleported vessel will always arrive on the block directly above the Receiver Station.

How it works

A Receiver Station must first be charged with a Temporal Gear.

A placed Temporal Vessel can be teleported by:
Sneak/Crouch + Right-click on the vessel while holding a Temporal Gear.

The vessel then teleports to a valid Receiver Station and consumes its temporal gear in the process.

Receiver behavior

Receiver Stations can be bound to a player by right-clicking them with any Wrench.

Another player’s bound Receiver Station cannot be overwritten by you

Teleport behavior

  • The Temporal Vessel and its contents are teleported to the nearest bound (to the player) Receiver Station
  • If no unoccupied bound Receiver Station is found, the Temporal Vessel will teleport to the nearest unbound Receiver Station
  • If no unbound Receiver Stations can be found, the teleportation will be canceled and the Temporal Vessel will drop the temporal gear.

This makes the mod safe for multiplayer servers, so players do not accidentally send their items to someone else’s base.

But always keep in mind how many bound Receiver Stations you have at your home. If your Receiver Stations are occupied your vessel will be teleported to the closest unbound Receiver Station, which can be at someone else's base.

Resource costs

The crafting costs of the Temporal Vessel and the Receiver Station are expensive. It is not meant to be cheap to teleport things around the world to your base or to your friends base on the other side of the world (if you visited them before and placed a bound Receiver Station at their base).

The Temporal Gear which was inserted into the Temporal Vessel will be consumed when the teleport was successful.

Even if it is expensive, I'll just use it to warp crops back home for the lulz (it's a 30 block walk)

What is the crafting recipe for the temporal vessel and the receiver ? Also dose it need to be charged after every use or is it like respawn setting with a temporal gear where it has multiple charges? that might be a good thing to be configurable.

I added pictures of the recipes in the mod description. "Need to be charged after every use", if you mean the receiver station, then no. The station only needs to be charged once. But if you mean the temporal vessel, then yes it needs to be charged whenever you want to teleport your stuff and the temporal gear of the vessel will be used. Making the temporal gear have multiple charges would be a nightmare to implement tbh. Temporal gears are not so super challenging to get, they drop once in a while from mobs, so I think it is ok the way it is. If you are having struggles to get temporal gears, there is a mod with which you can craft temporal gears. That might be a good compromise for your use case. :)

Just saw this on a mod review last night, Had to come looking for it! great idea! truly something that feels vanila adjacent, love to see something like this in the basegame someday..

@Omikronlex: Cool to hear, that the mod was featured in a mod review.

Ah! Pardon if thats news to you then! Check out "Another 15 must have mods for vintage story" on youtube, done by a channel called Nilhero about a month ago. id post the link but i dunno if id be stepping on toes doing so. Gives your mod a good two minute rundown and sold me on it..

Oh man I've been looking forward to something like this for ages!

I love this cause it uses vanilla lore items and temporal gear is not something you get easy, for a game like vintage story stuff like this works so well cause the game is already hard (cause of progression)

@wael6 I used the look of the translocator base for the receiver base and the lid of the vessel. It's a matter of taste I guess.

wael6, Mar 27th at 5:22 PM

mod seems to have good gameplay (havent checked the recipes yet bc i'm on 1.21) but i think the receiver and vessel don't look enough jonas-like and look out of place with other temporal based technology

Good work!))
