Temporal Lives lets you earn extra lives with temporal gears, giving you a way to prolong your survival in hardcore worlds.
Use a temporal gear as you normally would to set your spawn point, and you’ll also gain extra lives. I have added some small messages every time you gain one or more lives that I have tried to make as immersive as possible while also hiding some references to other games in them.
- Lives per gear follow your world settings: you will gain as many lives as the temporal gear will uphold your respawn point for, with a minimum of one life per gear.
- Extra lives are saved per player and persist between sessions.
- The death screen reflects your remaining lives, including those gained from gears.
- Worlds with unlimited lives remain unlimited.
Built for Vintage Story 1.22.7. Install on both the client and server for multiplayer.
Keep in mind that when removing the mod you will lose any extra lives you have gained, making your next death likely to be your last if you have died enough times already.
Testing & compatibility
Tested in singleplayer on Vintage Story 1.22.7 with >150 mods installed, so compatibility should generally be good. Mods that change or replace the same methods as this mod (namely the death screen and how hardcore lives get calculated) will probably not be compatible however.
I may have missed some edge cases during testing. If you encounter any issues, please report them in the comments.
