This is updated mod done by decompiling original one made by Ronchiporc
I have used a decompilator to get the source code - change specific code to make it work with new game version (1.22). Should work long after 1.22.
If author will like to make me delete it - i would delete it by simple request.

I just know how good that mod was and how much work was done into it - it would be sad to let it be forgotten while it makes claims so perfect and simple <3

Original author's description:

This mod simplifies and gamifies the mechanic of terrain claims for mutiplayer servers and is inspired by the claim mechanics of the game ECO.

Features:

  • adds a craftable new tool: the claim stake.
  • adds a craftable new item: claim papers
  • claim stake consumes claim papers to create a claimed plot of land
  • existing claim volumes are visible when the tool is equiped in hand
  • plots of lands are auto-aligned as a grid, and the dimensions of the plot tile can be configured in the ModConfig .cfg file.
  • plots can be unclaimed to retreive the claim papers.
  • claim stake is crafted with sticks, firewood and flint (so available early game)
  • claim papers are crafted with various non-passively farmable materials: leather, copper, resin, candles, flax seeds and charcoal.

Optionnal features:

  • new players receive a free claim stake at their first spawn
  • free claims for players (default is 4)
  • enemy mobs are blocked from spawning inside claims
  • incremental claim paper costs when players already own certain numbers of terrain plots
  • block players from planting crops outside their claims (default on)
  • claims expire after a given number of (real) days since last logout (default off)

Guide:

  • craft the claim stake.
  • equip the claim stake in hand, and start pressing right click to aim where to place your first plot, which will appear in green.
  • release right click to place it.
  • repeat to place up to 4 free plots of 8x8 (by default)
  • to claim a 5th plot and above,  you need to craft claim papers and place them in your inventory.
  • you can unclaim by right clicking on one of your existing plots.

Notes:

  • "LandClaimAllowance" has to be set to 0 for regular players in server cfg file , so that they can't circumvent the claim stake mechanics with manual command claims.
  • You will still need commands to manage claim properties such as permissions, naming, groups ect...
  • You can toggle an option to give players a free Claim Stake at spawn in the .cgf file.

How does one make it so that others can build on your claim? Because the normal commands do not work. @Lookson
