Mods I make are always open source, and always permissive (usually MIT, but see section below)
AI usage disclosures:
- Generally I won't develop mods I plan on distributing as a mod instead of a private server tweak using large language model assistance
- In the off chance I do eventually end up distributing them, I will always have a disclosure section near the top of the mod description and alternatives you can use instead
- Mods created with AI assistance will always be public domain / CC0 / no rights reserved; you can't copyright a machine's output, after all
- I will occasionally machine translate, but I have never been impressed with the results of that and it usually seems like more trouble than it's worth*
- No AI generated images, sounds, textures, video, models, animations, et cetera ever. I would rather just plop a title in bold Arial on a screenshot
* One time I used a machine translation service to create French translations for a Minecraft mod and it turned "wolf backpack" into "wolf bosom" so that was fun
