Features

  • Chisel on ANY block. Shafts, angled gears, pipes, machines, funny-shaped blocks — if vanilla says “no”, this says “sure”. The host block is never replaced, so it keeps 100% of its function.
  • Solid collision. Your carved decoration is real: stand on it, walk over it, build a ledge you can actually use. The host block’s own collision is preserved on top of it.
  • Copy & paste shapes. Copy any chiseled block (or an existing overlay) and stamp it onto a new target.
  • Carve in place. Add and remove voxels right where they sit, exactly like the vanilla chisel — snapping to the same size grid, with a live highlight of what you’re about to cut.
  • Native size menu. Press the tool-mode key (default F) on an overlay to pick your chisel size (1 / 2 / 4 / 8), just like a real chiseled block.
  • Singleplayer & multiplayer. Overlays are stored with the world and synced to every player.

How it works

The mod is has a dedicated tool so it never gets in the way of normal chiseling. Everything is gated on holding an enabled [CE] chisel:

  • Hold a plain chisel → the mod stays completely out of the way, vanilla chiseling is untouched.
  • Hold an enabled [CE] chisel → the “chisel everywhere” gestures come alive.

Crafting the [CE] chisel

Place a chisel above a hammer in the crafting grid. Your chisel just gains a [CE] name prefix. Crafting it the same way again changes it back to a vanilla chisel, so you can switch any time.

Controls (while [CE] chisel)

Action How
Copy a shape Aim at a chiseled block / existing overlay → N
Paste the copied shape Sneak + Right-click on a block the vanilla chisel won’t carve (a shaft, etc.)
Carve away voxels Left-click on the overlay
Add voxels Right-click on the overlay
Remove the whole overlay Sneak + Left-click on the overlay
Pick chisel size F on the overlay → native 1× / 2× / 4× / 8× menu

Notes

  • The carved shape is decorative: it never changes, powers, or blocks the host block’s own behaviour.

0.7.1 chiseleverywhere
1.22.0 - 1.22.7
523 Sep 25th at 1:02 PM chiseleverywhere_0.7.1.zip 1-click install

Fixed: collision and room-sealing patches now actually apply to blocks that **inherit**
  `GetCollisionBoxes`/`GetRetention` instead of overriding it (e.g. `BlockShapeFromAttributes`,
`BlockGeneric`, `BlockMicroBlock`, `BlockGroundStorage`). Harmony was rejecting these with
"You can only patch implemented methods" because reflection returned a method stamped with the leaf
block's type instead of the type that actually declares it; overlays on those blocks previously had no
  collision and didn't seal rooms.

Fixed: pasting a decorative shape made of oriented blocks (logs, planks, and similar) now
accepts the normal block from your inventory in any orientation, and consumes one. Previously only
vertically-placed wood worked — other orientations demanded an exact-orientation block, and taking the
plain block into your inventory didn't help. Non-oriented blocks are unaffected.

I'm seeing the following items in my logs (non-critical I think):

the sneak right click doesn't seem to work, and there's no keybinding to change it other than the copy block one, as far as I can tell.

The prompt comes up with the chiseled block copying, but pasting itself doesn't work. At least for me.

Edit: I might be dumb - does the copied block only work on non-chisel stuff? Or does the copy and paste work on regular chiselable blocks too?

Edit 2: I got it to work, though it does bum me out the copy and paste feature doesn't work on regular blocks :/ But I can confirm it does still work, just literally only on non-chiselable blocks. Example: a lantern I tested it on.

How did you get it to work? I've been running into the same issue.

I did get it to work once before, removed the attempt, replaced the transmission, and now it isn't working on any blocks.

I made my block elsewhere, then when it came to putting it on the thing (I do get the chatbox tooltip) it just... don't.

The way I got it to work was:

  1. Hold the CE Chisel
  2. Chisel a block that is a vanilla block that can be chiseled normally
  3. Hit "N" on the block that you chiseled, still holding the chisel in your hand.
  4. Go to the block you want to paste it on, and then shift+Right Click to apply it to the block.

From there it converts it to a normal block you can chisel, though if you delete it, you have to repaste the original. It's a bit funky, haha.

I also ran into a bug that if you delete the block it's under, you can't delete the chiselable block that was pasted over it. The way around that was to just chisel all of the blocks away with the 8x8 one (or whatever the biggest was). :)

can somebody please help me understand how to get ce chisel? i am confused on how to get it and use it

Bubbadoo, Aug 31st at 11:23 PM (modified Sep 4th at 4:23 AM)

Oh this is great! I am assuming it will work fine with the redwood corner log pieces?
I had to totally redo my plans on a staircase incorporating those logs to have a central 2x2 redwood log in the middle that's also a staircase, and I had to redo this whole idea I built around purely because for whatever reason that block is unchisable

EDIT: That specific block I got this mod for still isn't chisel-able :(

Pentasis, Aug 26th at 9:00 AM

Is this compatible with additive chiseling? https://mods.vintagestory.at/additivechiseling

Majke , Aug 26th at 9:18 AM
@Pentasis: Is this compatible with additive chiseling? https://mods.vintagestory.at/additivechiseling

It doesnt break any other chisel mods. It has its own system. you can use additivechiseling to chisel desired block and then with my mod copy and paste it where you want.

Atemo, Aug 25th at 10:41 PM

A mod to be followed closely! Oh, my poor chisel addiction… Never to be healed, is it?

El_Neuman, Aug 25th at 3:51 PM (modified Aug 25th at 5:02 PM)

This mod is a must-have for any builder. It’s absolutely incredible - you literally made my dream come true!

upd:

I’m currently trying to make a shelf for items, but I can only get it to work with vertically oriented wood. If I use a different orientation, placing the decorative block requires a block with the corresponding orientation. Yes, I tried taking that block into my inventory, but that didn’t help either. Meanwhile, when placing standard blocks without orientation, there are no problems and no blocks are required in the inventory.

I also noticed that the lighting on the decorative blocks is different from the game’s regular lighting, which makes them stand out from the overall style. So unfortunately, it doesn’t seem possible to combine regular microblocks with decorative blocks while keeping the functionality - you have to choose one or the other.
