What it does

ClaimLink lets you link your vanilla land claims to an existing player group. Any claim a group member owns can be linked in, and ClaimLink computes a protective buffer zone around the combined shape of every linked claim. Link a few claims close together and you get one continuous protected area covering all of them, not just claims that are related in name only.

The buffer is actively protected. Only members of the group behind the claim link can place or break blocks inside it, same as how the vanilla claims actually protect. On top of that, a claim link can grant explicit buffer access to individual players or whole other groups who aren't members. So you can let allies or neighbors into the buffer without adding them to your group.

What it's for

Servers that want claimed land to grow organically out of real player-placed claims instead of a fixed chunk grid. If you've used Towny in Minecraft or other mods like CAN Claims, it's a similar idea but without the grid snapping and without a fake economy gating how much land you can hold. Your buffer zone follows whatever shape your claims actually are, sprawled, clustered, whatever players build.

Why I built it

I wanted a claims system where claimed land is shaped by what players actually build, not by chunk boundaries, and with no artificial economy standing between a player and land they earned by building on it. Vanilla claims already handle the geometry, ClaimLink just links them together and adds a buffer so a group's holdings are more than just their claims, but the space around them too. All of this without touching vanilla claim data, so the mod is fully removable with zero corruption risk.

Commands: /claimlink link/unlink/new/kick/info/list/delete/transferownership/allow/allowgroup/deny/denygroup, plus admin variants of most.

Extensibility

ClaimLink is meant to stay narrow in scope on purpose. Link claims, compute a buffer, and apply protection. It's built so other mods can hook into it and add their own mechanics on top, without needing changes to ClaimLink itself. Requests that make it easier to build on top of, better hooks, more info exposed, that kind of thing, are welcome. Gameplay systems like an economy, or new rules for what non-members can or can't do, belong in a separate mod that builds on ClaimLink rather than being folded into it.
