🎮 Per-Instance Game Client — individual instances can now use either the standard Vintage Story client or Optimum while keeping the same mods, saves, settings and launch arguments. Existing instances continue using Vanilla by default.
🪟 Fixed Windows Installation Cancellation — cancelling a Vintage Story installation on Windows now correctly stops the installer process instead of potentially leaving it running in the background.

Hello, some feedback: it would be very helpful to be able to open the folder of a selected instance, from within the launcher, for example to change something in the mod config folder.

I have not found any option in the launcher that would let me open instance folder, nor the mod config folder, and finding the right folder manually inside appdata/roaming/waxlight proved to be difficult, because instance folders seem to be named with hex sequence

Any chance to add a checkmark to updating mod? some mods have 2 versions that add, change or disable features the ability to choice what to update would be great, also update mods from the mod tab can be useful,  amazing mod so far works great on linux but i had to install dotnet runtime to make it launch the game.

I haven't tried this mod yet, but this idea has been in my head as something I hope the devs will add, a mod and version managing launcher.

This is very brilliant and I love that you are working on this. Thank you!

Thank you so much! ❤️
That’s exactly what I’m aiming for with Waxlight — making mod and version management as simple and convenient as possible. There’s still a lot I want to improve, so feedback like this really means a lot!

This looks like an issue with Windows Credential Manager rather than Waxlight itself. It may be full or temporarily unavailable.

Could you try running in powershell:
cmdkey /generic:WaxlightCredentialTest /user:test /pass:test

If you get the same “Not enough memory resources” error, please check Control Panel → Credential Manager → Windows Credentials and remove any old/unnecessary credentials, then restart Windows and try Waxlight again

Can the mod list game version selector also have a relaxed setting (IE 1.22.x instead of specifically 1.22.6)?

ElizTriad, Aug 7th at 12:14 AM (modified Aug 7th at 12:15 AM)

The launcher looks promising!
Can you make mods manually added to the catalog be detected as downloaded and allow them to be updated through the launcher?
And import all mods from a specific catalog at once.

That's a good idea. we'll try to implement it soon.

We'll work on making it easier to download multiple mods in the launcher.

The ability to export and import modpacks has already been implemented.

Slight issue. You can't press download if the list of versions a mod supports is too long.

Not sure whats going on - just downloaded a single mod, and now it will not let me download any more through the browser. Any way I can get the logs for you for that?

AmadoMuerte , Aug 6th at 2:15 AM
@AmadoMuerte: Do you mean one-click installation via the browser?

I doubt it will work correctly via the launcher; the launcher has its own mod catalog with a download feature for that purpose.

I think this is what he is talking about. Some mods simply cannot be downloaded.

Also doesn't download "Forgotten Armory: Chinese Dynasties". Those are the two i have found.

Would it be possible to make a portable version that doesn't require installation in the (C:) AppData folder? Or maybe options to adjust directory creation and download location. I couldn't find a way to switch the directory structure when generating a copied instance.

I typically try and keep as little on my c-drive as possible, so I have my modding setup on a seperate External Drive where I manage all of the different modded games I play, including modded instances. I don't even install my games or save downloads onto my c-drive and have another dedicated External HD seperate from my Modding Files. Storing the copied instances onto the c-drive currently seperates it from my whole setup with no way to adjust it, sadly, and a concern I had is that it could eventually clog up the main drive depending on how many instances a player generates, especially if that person is already modding other games and doesn't manage their files or file structure well.

I love the design and aesthetic of the Program though, so I'm looking forward to seeing more! :D

I would like to 2nd this feature request of being able to change the install location or have it be portable, as well as being able to change the data destination of a modded instance.

Okay, another request. The ability to have it use an existing Vintage Story install would be nice. I can't seem to find a way to select one that I already have, only download or install from file.

Hey, i’ve seen your requests, and they will be implemented in the future. Regarding versions, you can upload a version via the "Versions" tab, or simply zip your game directory and submit that as a version. However, a major update is coming soon that will fix a lot of things, so I think it might be worth waiting for that release.
