Latest release (for Vintage Story 1.22.0 - 1.22.3, potentially outdated):
PicoStackables_v1.3.1.zip 1-click install
Pico Stackables lets you change how much every item and block stacks to, with full control through a friendly in-game editor — no file editing required.
Features
- Global multiplier — scale every stack size at once (e.g. ×2 turns a stack of 16 into 32, 64 into 128).
- Flat size mode — prefer a single number? Flip one switch to set every item and block to a fixed stack size, like 500 or 1000.
- Prevent item loss — a safety toggle (on by default) that never lets a stack size drop below its vanilla value, so changing your settings can't truncate and delete items from existing oversized stacks.
- Per-item / per-block overrides — click any entry, type an exact stack size, and Apply. It keeps that custom value and ignores the global setting (shown in yellow). Right-click to quick-toggle.
- In-game config dialog — type
.picostackablesto open a searchable, multi-column grid of every item and block in the game, including modded content, with hover tooltips and a live “which mode is active” indicator. - Live preview — each entry shows
original → newwith the new value in green, updating instantly as you adjust the multiplier or flat size. - Never lose your edits — the dialog shows when you have unsaved changes and asks before closing if you do. Settings are saved to disk and reload automatically every session.
- Clean list — tools and other durability items, creatures/NPCs, and internal placeholders are automatically left alone and hidden, so you only see things you'd actually stack.
- Works with other mods — applies to all registered blocks/items automatically, no configuration needed.
How to use
- Install the mod and load a world.
- Press Enter and type
.picostackablesto open the editor. - Pick a multiplier or flat size, fine-tune individual items if you like, and hit Save.
Notes
- Stack-size changes are applied on both the server and connected clients; on multiplayer, only server operators can save changes.
- A few mods that compute stack sizes dynamically in code may override the setting for their specific items.
Open source under the MIT license.
- New Flat size mode: set every item/block to one fixed stack size (e.g. 500 or 1000) instead of multiplying.
Fixes
- Multiplayer: stack sizes now apply correctly on connected clients. Previously the new limits only took effect on the server, so clients still enforced vanilla stack sizes.
- Build: fixed the "Assembly with same name is already loaded" error on startup by stopping the build from emitting a duplicate reference assembly (ref/).
- Fixed a minor GUI memory leak when the config dialog refreshed.
Improvements
- Smarter item filtering — the multiplier and config list now skip items that shouldn't be touched:
-
- Tools, weapons, armour and other durability/single-stack items (no more accidentally stackable swords).
- Creature/NPC spawn entries (traders, wildlife, monsters, tamed animals).
- Internal placeholders like
item-air.

v1.3.0 — Dialog usability
- Reorganized the config screen into two clean rows and widened it so nothing feels cramped.
- Added a live "mode active" indicator showing whether the multiplier or the flat size is in effect.
- Added hover tooltips to the multiplier, flat size, mode switch and the "Prevent item loss" toggle.
- Added an on-screen hint: left-click an item to edit it, right-click to quick-toggle an override.
- Closing with unsaved changes now asks for confirmation instead of silently discarding edits.
v1.2.0 — Flat sizes & item-loss safety
- New Flat size mode: set every item/block to one fixed stack size (e.g. 500 or 1000) instead of multiplying.
- New "Prevent item loss" safety toggle (on by default): the mod never sets a stack size below the vanilla value, so a lower multiplier or a small flat size can't truncate and delete existing oversized stacks.
- Added an unsaved-changes indicator so a live preview is never mistaken for a saved change. | |||||||

Mod keeps thowing this error whenever the game starts, it's doing this since I updated to 1.3.1:
Heey! Thanks for letting me know!
I'll take a look as soon as I can!
Many thanks! 🙏
No problem, can't fix problems or help you improve if people stay silent.
Ok, so, I had this error before.
There are two options that could be causing it:
Interesting, yes, removing the old mod, adding the new one and then restarting the entire game does seem to have solved the issue. It loaded up just fine now thank you.
been having an issue where it doesnt keep its stack size after i half it
I'm sorry you having this problem, are you using the lastest version? (v1.3.1)
1.3.0 ill up date now and let you know if i still have the issue
Great! Let me know if it keeps happening
I noticed a problem, the mod dont have Temporal Gear as an option to increase stack size.
Oh, good catch, I'll look into it!
Problem solved!
that was fast :D ty!
Love the mod so far, I've been using it for the past few days. But I have a few requests if possible. Would it be possible to make a client version? Or an ability to save your settings between sessions? I ask because I lost over 3000 clay because I forgot to reactivate the multiplier when I turned on the game this morning, It seems like it only works for the session and then returns to default when the game is turned off. I assume thats why the excess was lost when there wasn't enough room in my storage to split them into other slots 😆 Thats probably a me problem.... Also would it be possible to make all stack sizes a custom flat number? Like setting all stacks to 500 or 1000 for example? Other then that, still loving the mod and will continue to use it regardles. Thanks for your time
Heya! Thank you for the comment!
So, The flat stack size is very doable and easy to implement, and the session saving is already implemented, it saves direct on your disk when you click save, but if didn't work, then something is wrong and I have to check the code.
The only problem is the clientside version; the game, even in singleplayer works on a server, if the mod asks the server only for the clientside to change the stacks, the server will probably reject the change and maintain the default stacksize.
But the other two I can work on!
Much love and await for the new update!
The mod is updated!
Hope you like it!
Goodness, that was quick, thank you so much 😆
Tried P1nks, but not compatible with expanded foods. Yours is working fine. Thanks!!
I much appreciate your comment! Thank you!!
just switched to this from p1nks stack sizes and it works much better while using a fraction of the memory
Thank you for commenting, I really appreaciate it; and yeah, I try to make it in a way to not consume or fry your ram lol.
Hello! Creator of the mod here!
Please, leave a comment if you like my mod, and a suggestion of you have one!
