Quenchable Weapon Pack Alpha

 

A content patch mod for Weapon Pack Alpha unofficial 1.18/1.19/1.20/1.21 update repack, integrating Vintage Story 1.22's quenching/buff system and providing custom stat tuning for iron(and above)-tier weapons.

Quenchable behavior (heads)

 

Added Quenchable to 13 weapon heads (iron/meteoriciron/steel variants only):

    3. halberdhead
    4. harvestknifehead
    5. igorothead
    6. mambelehead
    7. naginatahead
    8. spathahead
    9. spontoonhead
    10. tachihead
    11. waraxehead
    12. warhammerhead
    13. warpickhead

Buffable behavior (final tools)

Added Buffable to all weaponpacka:itemtypes/tool/* so quench bonuses on heads transfer to assembled weapons.

Recipe attribute

applyquenchablebuffs: true added to 13 grid recipes (head → assembled tool) so the head's quench bonus carries over to the finished weapon. throwingspear recipe excluded.

Forgeable + inForgeTransform

  • All heads have forgable: true
  • Each head got a custom inForgeTransform so it sits visually in the forge, individually tuned per weapon shape (sword-style, axe-style, hammer/pick-style, polearm-style)

Direct-smithed weapons — converted to flat stat buffs

For weapons smithed directly without a "head" intermediate, quenching was replaced with permanent flat buffs to iron/meteoriciron/steel variants only:

spikedagger +15% damage, +15% durability
katar +25% damage, +25% durability
khopesh +25% damage, +25% durability
rapier +25% damage, +25% durability
chakri +25% melee damage, +25% durability, +25% thrown damage
throwingspear +25% melee damage, +25% thrown damage (no durability field)

 

These weapons no longer have the Quenchable behavior — the buffs are baked into the item stats permanently. Bronze/copper/lower-tier variants are unaffected.

Caveats

  • Per-weapon "quench tolerance" customization (different shatter rates / bonus magnitudes per weapon) cannot be done in pure JSON — vanilla Quenchable only exposes metalVariantgroupCode. Would require a C# behavior subclass. E.g., tachi should have stronger quenching buffs (quenching makes it much better than other weapons, but it is easier to break in quenching).
  • Forge slot offsets (the 6 visual positions when multiple items are in the forge) are hardcoded in BlockEntityForge — not configurable via JSON.

 

Todo:

1. The long weapons are currently "floating" above the forge, though the floating is inevitable :-(, so I probably need to find another way.

I have the issue as Enigmatic student where the mod requests a mysterious dependency "V", my mod version is 1.8.2
