AI use Disclosure: Claude was used to finish this off to ensure smooth deployment, as I am pretty badly dyslexic and coding can be a nightmare of either errors or time spent going over every little thing. Wanted to be upfront that this was finished off by an LLM (who kept trying to give extra xp to the sawbuck for some reason despite me insisting that this shouldn't be the case). The art is not AI, that crappy edit is all me, three different fonts and all :P

Description: I was chopping blocks for firewood with my boyfriend yesterday and asked outloud "Why doesn't this give XP for forestry? Its working with the logs right?" he agreed and we set to work on opening up X-skills, their example mod, a mod that gives XP for the pottery wheel and said "Oh, I think we can just kinda put this together". So we did.

This mod very simply adds a small bit of XP when you finish something using IDG's workstations. That's it. The XP increment is around half of felling a tree, since this is a bit faster than that (depending on your mods....Immerisve Mining has ruined my sense of tool speed, YMMV).

NOTICE: This should work on the current build of the IDG mod, but I based it on my edited version of that mod where I tweaked some stuff and fixed the animations that were bugging out for me. I don't think anything that would hook into what we tied the X-skills xp gain to would be different, but I wanted to disclose that too. If its breaking, that's probably why, and maybe I'll get permission from the Devs of IDG to toss my 'fixed' (and tweaked) IDG up until they release their own so this can also be used. Something like that.

1.22-pre-builds: Not tested with that, because I don't even think X-skills and IDG work with that yet. Just thought I'd say it though.

Obligatory "This is my first mod" statment: This is my first....released....mod. I've been modding out stuff in VS for a bit now along with my boyfriend who is very paitent and doesnt question why his GF is yelling at a screen full of code at 1 am because the villagers just won't effin' path right and she wants to go to sleep. That said, I hope I didn't miss anything. Using Claude hopefully helped to keep this clean and ready to go....but I have used it before to double check some stuff and it came up with some absolutely convoluted stuff in response to a single thing and I knew just needed a patch and not a whole harmony mod (I swear it loves to suggest harmony patching for everyhing...I guess it kinda wins here :P).

Why write all this: Because I can, and the mod is simple enough that I bet most of you knew exactly what it was when you saw it, and either grabbed it or didn't depending on if you 1) play using IDG and 2) play using X-skills.....so I wrote a little extra stuff, just for anyone interested in the further details of a mod that gives xp for using the IDG workstations.

Thank you for downloading, I hope it works and doesn't crash anything. It worked well for me and paired nicely with Panda XP Drops, which is a cool mod I will give a shoutout to right now.

If any issues come up: Let me know here, I don't "Discord" so much anymore (pretty much keep it so my son can send me memes and to talk with my one Dutch friend :P) but maybe one day I will more.

Cool future mods I'm working on for the future maybe who knows:

A mod that makes your pot dirty after you empty the food out, so you have to wash it before you can use it again (kinda based on Salty´s Manual: Dishes or really, inspired by it)
A mod that adds some degredation to fences so they need to be maintained (but its like, event based so it doesn't tick for every fence all the time, if I finish it you'll see what I mean)
Some varsion (edit: I will leave this in to illustrate my brain-to-spelling issues, lol. It was meant to so "Some VERSION of" ) cross compatibility mods, like Toolsmith and Lathe (I actually have this working but in the form of a total conversion of the Lathe mod, so....that's not ready to come out of the oven yet)

Have a wonderful day :)

@Miraleaps I will happily take you up on the help! I did send a friend request (DoodleBacon)

MiraLeaps , Apr 11th at 10:03 AM

Xnighite if you add me on discord (miraleaps) I can maybe point you in the direction of how to fix it for yourself. I'd hate for people to stop using it because of that stuff, because yeah...it bothered me too

Xnighite, Apr 11th at 5:11 AM

Understandable; thank you for tryin'

hopefully the mod author gets back to you soon on it; IDG is such a good mod, I don't want to walk away from it just 'cause of animations buggin' out

MiraLeaps , Apr 10th at 12:22 PM

Xnighite My helpful nature wants me to Gdrive it and link you, but the ethical issue is that it would be distrubting a mod that isn't mine (and I don't want to make that mistake again, despite the other one I thought was abandoned....). I have reached out to the mod-maker and will probably do so again to see if I can get that stuff out there or make a pull request so the can integrate it themselves.

Sorry <3

If permissions change on that front, I'll let you know asap.

Ello, is there a way to get the IDG edited version without x-skills? I've ran into an issue with animations not happening and can't find a fix anywhere except here.

Thank you for your time!
