ValksFuzzyClouds
This mod makes the volumetric clouds fuzzy
they are smooth.
As long as another mod doesn't modify the volumetric clouds, this is compatible.
There are now x32 versions . these are the 1.0.1-dev Versions and should run better. you can see the last image for a comparison
I wanted to try doing some shaders… and I can tell you I am not doing that again.

This is just a temporary fix for now tho
I believe i can write a better patch to make them more perfomant without drawing this much.
Its just j really need to look into it and barely have any free time rn, most of the days i only get 2 to 3 games of deadlock after work
Thank you for the performance ratings. When you have good graphics cards (or at least ones that are more or less decent), you can easily cope with a drop from 190 to 120. But when you don't have a mod and you're getting 45 fps, a 30% drop is critical.
7800x3d + 6900 XT
1.0.0: 120fps
1.0.1-dev.2: 145fps
without: 190fps
I'm running at locked 75 anyway :p Love the look of it, thank you
4070 super with 49 other mods installed but only bliss shader mod maybe in direct conflict
CoraTora ElkChan the dev version has worse quality but should be more performant
I added lower quality version, these are the dev versions of the mod
CoraTora interesting , can you share with me what settings you are running and your hardware,
so far i cant relate on a 3080
I was running Recommended download (for Vintage Story 1.21.0-pre.1 - 1.21.6):
CoraTora are you on the pre version ? i am aware of it having issues there
with 1.21.6 it seems to run without much cost
pretty heavy performance hit when used in conjunction with bliss shaders not sure if they were fighting each other but disabling bliss shaders did not free up fps.
cool

SilverValkyrie 1.22.0-pre.3
ElkChan on 1.22 or 1.21 ?
Also notice what if i look on clouds my FPS drops about 33%. Even with only this mod installed (cloud settings set to max)
this is what I wanted from the base volumetric clouds, thank you
Peak!
@Swedneck its actually caused by how the smothing works but i liked it and its cheaper to let them exist then to try fixing that
Don't know if this is a vanilla thing, intentionally added, or a happy accident; but i noticed these waves in the clouds that i've always found fascinating IRL, and that made me happy.
This just straight up looks like real clouds now.
These clouds are lovely and make my playthrough just that extra bit immersive, thank you for this wonderful mod, Valk!
ElkChan sorry i didnt double check that they changed a requirement for this file.
Seems like they are doing some new stuff on 1.22 with clouds. Update is out now
ChimMAG barely anything , this mod isnt casting anything new, it mostly just smoothing with an avg between direct neighbours.
LarekFlynn that is set sooomewhere in the code files. Maybe if i get to it
ChimMAG ive been using it in combination with Coriander and Kraken Shader and about 90ish mods on the server and I haven't been able to notice any significant drop between with this mod and without.
How does this mod affect performance?
for some reason crashes on 1.22.0-pre.3
Would you know if it's possible to set a higher render distance for clouds so they can cover the sky even when chunk render is set lower?
So fluffy! Beautiful :D
This is actually so cool. Tried it out shortly and storm clouds look so menacing with this Mod I love it
Screenshots were made using Bliss shader
