Just a quick thought: Can you align the direction of blocks to your direction of travel? That could align things like fanned cobble to the road. Maybe have a rotation setting to change the rotation relative to the ditection traveled?
Critcher
lol, no problem! Actually just realised it also does it when not in clearing mode when 'mother nature' is selected.
BlockBerryJam LMAO!!! Ahhhh, of course it would!!! I will fix that very soon, LMAO, my apologies!!!
Been playing around for a few days and it's great.
Just one note; when in clearing mode, it will also take out the bottom of trees and it'd be great if it didn't.
Guimoute Yes, that's the way it is right now, what I'm going to do is add a 'Roadbuilder's Backpack' and it will take one backpack slot and the mod will only use the blocks you put in that pack. I think that will be the solution you're looking for :)
Critcher What if I want to only use granite gravel as my road block type in survival? I have to empty entirely my backpacks to use that feature.
Guimoute
I chose to use the backpack so that people could have multiple backpacks with different combinations of blocks in them and they could just put on the backpack they want to use at the moment. But they are pulled from the users inventory in that mode, I give rammed earth and packed dirt and paths for free. So it's a mix of harcoded and played held blocks :)
This mod has a lot of potential. I would suggest using the blocks in the user's hotbar instead of a hardcoded list of blocks.
MrApothic BlockBerryJam Here you go, the next phase, you need to play with it a bit but what do you think about this direction? Please watch the video to see what's up :)
There were tools back in time that were used to attempt to stamp down after doing a minor scrapping of the land, the pathing tool could be designed around going from grass top to dirt to packed to ramped to path when adding in rocks to the ground spot and stamping it down with a tool or walking over it over time to convert the block?
Either way that's just a tossing an idea out of my hat for ya, hope it helps- nice mod idea as well but I hope to see a more expansive and mechanically enriched idea from this. :)
Critcher nice one! Looking forward to updates!
BlockBerryJam I am right there with you, the gui I'm imagining right now will show the icon for all the useable blocks in your pack and I'll put in a little check box by each icon so you can 'add them to the mix' then like my Chaotica mod it can create that chaotic 'greebling'
Very cool. I would love an option to mix and match materials for greebling. Maybe the list of path options could have toggle boxes so you could activate several at a time and leave behind a randomised mix of (for example) stone path, packed earth and rammed earth. Not really sure how to balance it for survival except maybe needing to have a 'path maker' tool, at least copper locked and limit movement speed significantly while path making is taking place. Maybe in survival whatever mix of blocks you have on your toolbar when using the path maker are used to make the path rather than having it take place in a menu.
I would love if anyone has spare time, for you to try this mod out, it makes big changes to your landscape so I really really really REALLY recommend trying this on a test world first to see how it works but, please do comment and let me know what you'd like to see to improve this mod... :) Thank you all
