Wilderlands Adjustments
A
Vintage Story mod that aims to provide configuration options for a number of base-game features, as well as be the repository for a number of patches that adjust vanilla content for realism and immersion.

Designed primarily with the Wilderlands server community in mind, but entirely useful for shaping your own experience if you find anything in this mod desirable for your use on your own game or server.


 

Features:

  • Provides independent spoilage timer controls for raw meat types (redmeat, fish, poultry, and bushmeat).
  • Adjusts a few assets to make firepit building require sticks, not firewood. (Firepit model still renders firewood when built with sticks. Might mess with changing that eventually, but leaving it as-is, for now.)
  • Allows for disabling the ability to pass time/skip nights via sleeping. Beds are still useful, but you can disable skipping nights/speeding up time while laying in one.
  • Density search mode on pro pick can be disabled. Big thanks to Zach2039 for the code to get this working!! Basically looked at NoDensitySearch code for this feature, and updated and incorporated it into this project, (with permission).
  • Dry grass can be acquired when breaking grass by hand.
  • The ability to acquire dry grass by hand and to build a firepit using sticks allows for building a fire without the need for knives or axes.

  • Added a number of other patches that tweak things such as adding tier 1 tool requirement to soil related blocks, increases vanilla shovel durability, adds a few new torch variants (contained in the game files), adjust some torch recipes to require fuel, and some other minor adjustments.

  • Added config toggle that allows for adjusting cooking timers and burn duration timers. Useful in situations where game day lengths have been adjusted using /time calendarspeedmul. Cooking and fuel burn timers do not adjust to game day length adjustments. Now if you double the real time length of a game day, you can also double cooking and burn time durations.
  • Added a config toggle to disable sleep.
  • Added a config toggle to disable the density search mode on the propick.
  • Added patch that allows for acquiring dry grass when breaking grass by hand.

Left out patch to firepit.

Changelog:

  • Added config multiplyer for cooking times and burn durations. This allows for easily increasing or decreasing the cooking time for food and burn duration for fuel. Particuarly handy if game day lengths have been increased, such as adjusting game day lengths using /time calanderspeedmul. Cooking and fuel burning timers don't adjust to that change. Now you can easily extend them as desired to account for changes to length of game day.
  • Added a toggle to disable sleep.
  • Added a toggle to disable DensitySearch mode on the propick.

  • Added a patch to make the firepit constructed via using sticks in place of firewood. Firewood and aged firewood no can no longer be used to build a firepit. Use sticks.
  • Firepit model still renders firewood when building it with sticks. I am pretty sure I'd have to patch the code to change that, and I'm not sure it is worth it. Maybe I'll play around with it eventually one day.

Initial release. Contains config options for spoilage timers on raw redmeat, bushmeat, poultry, and fish. (Edit: Works with 1.22-rc1, but I don't recommend. Forgot to update the framework to NET 10 with this release. Use W.Adjustments 1.0.1 instead for VS 1.22 rc-1)

Hoping to see the ability to adjust spawn and spread of the different entities blocks etc in rustbound, not a huge fan of the way it works by default, but love the addition of new evil critters.
