This is a small retexture mod which recolours all vanilla bismuth bronze textures to have a similar minty color to TerraFirmaCraft's bismuth bronze.

I made this a while ago for a friend, a TerraFirmaCraft refugee who did not like the rather drab brown color of bismuth bronze in vanilla Vintage Story, with it originally being made on version 1.19.8, so it should work on that version onwards.

DARK VERSION

There are two versions of this mod - the normal version (as shown in the screenshots) and a Dark version which has textures that are not as bright and neon-green. Check the Files section if you wish to download the Dark version.

COMPATIBILITY

This mod is explicitly compatible with:
- Combat Overhaul: Armory (since v1.10.2, added in v1.0.1)

Any mods that use the vanilla textures for metal tools/armor/whatever will be automatically compatible with this mod.

Check out its sister mod, Ebon Hepatizon!

Hey friend! Would these happen to be compatible with Toolsmith? If not, could they be?

GodzillaFan_13, Mar 17th at 3:04 AM

could you add screenshots of the darker version?

Maoman, Mar 7th at 12:54 AM (modified Mar 7th at 12:56 AM)

Thank ya much! Unfortunately I can not for the life of me find any damn zinc in this world. I looted a tiny amount from ruins to make a couple of ingots but that's it.

CaneOfTheTophat , Mar 6th at 8:29 PM

Maoman Done! See version 1.0.1.

Maoman, Mar 5th at 2:02 PM (modified Mar 5th at 8:21 PM)

Would you mind adding compatibility for Armory's armor? Pretty please?

Maoman Pfffft. That's hilarious.

Glad that I could act as a mortal instrument for the cosmic forces of fate that have chosen to make your playthrough, and your playthrough specifically, be as green as it possibly can. :P And in general, I'm glad that all of you have been liking this mod!

You have NO IDEA how hard you just made me laugh bro hooooly shit.

Let me try to summarize this concisely:
First off, I spawned on top of an absolutely biblical amount of peridotite--I took a translocator 5000 blocks away and it was still peridotite--so I'm already making everything out of this green rock. And then as I went deeper I found multiple huge veins of olivine for some reason (a green dye). And then a trader was selling a kapok seed (I don't know what plant that is but I buy and plant it anyway). And then I started finding emeralds--like, dozens of them. And then a trader was selling green glass for cheap. And then I found actual peridot gems. And then my kapok tree grew up, and what color is its wood? Green. And then a trader was selling a green hat/boots/gloves combo. Aaaand then I found a ruin underground that contained "temporal torches" which burn with--you guessed it--an eternal green light.

Green green green green green. Everywhere. Everything

Also, among all this endless green everywhere I turn, I also found one huge vein of bismuth worth literally hundreds of ingots. I also had some zinc from somewhere, so of course when it was time to move to the bronze age, I went for bismuth bronze.
...and... w-what? WHAT?
WHY?
WHY IS IT UGLY AS SIN!?
Whyyyyy!?
Awww man I was so sad!
...But I didn't even go looking, I figured it was too niche a problem, I just sighed and went "welp, this is my life now, green everything with a bit of rusty brown."

Then I literally, I just accidentally stumbled onto this while randomly browsing recent mods.
And bro.
Of ALL the colors you could have chosen...
You chose fucking GREEN METAL.
My dude I must have had the most hilariously dorky huge grin on my face as I hit that download button.

You just made my friggin day hahahaha
(And thank you for the darker version, that is a small detail greatly appreciated.)

CaneOfTheTophat I added:
"side": "Client",
just under the "type" section, and now it works as a client side mod! :D

CaneOfTheTophat , Feb 22nd at 9:38 PM

RenayEdor That could've been because the mod was marked as both clientside and serverside in this here database. Try now?

RenayEdor, Feb 22nd at 6:55 PM

So. Comming back to update... Sadly I, don't know enough and, couldn't get the mod to work "client side". IDK if it's possible, because there is another mod that does something similar (Meteoric Crystal mod), but it doesn't replace armor textures, maybe that's why your's doesn't work as a client mod? Not having to force the texture change on players who aren't use to it (why anyone would like the current color baffles me), but also leting people play on public servers where they don't have a choice in mods would be awesome for this mod!

Oblivion called, it wants its malachite back

CaneOfTheTophat , Feb 22nd at 11:57 AM (modified Feb 22nd at 12:29 PM)

VanduJunior I've uploaded the dark version. I hope that it's what you were looking for!

EDIT: I've come to the horrifying realization that playing at 300 gamma was not me using any sort of default or sane settings and that people probably have a lower gamma than I do. No wonder the normal version looked pale to me despite being aggressively green :P

yeah i actually realized like a day or so after making this comment that maybe its intended for all the metal stuff in that mod is made just from copper! i just got confused because i was gonna pour the bismuth bronze into the cauldron mold and it wouldnt work, and come to think of it, thats  probs a quirk of the mod culinary artillery rather than a glitch/incompatibility. thank you for checking though, sorry about that! i love this mod, haha

edit: yep, just checked by uninstalling this mod and trying to pour regular bismuth into the mold, it just doesnt take anything but copper! my bad xD

CaneOfTheTophat , Feb 20th at 5:53 PM (modified Feb 22nd at 11:59 AM)

magioffire I looked at A Culinary Artillery and the newest versions don't seem to have anything made out of bismuth bronze. Are you using a specific non-dev version? I'm not familiar with A Culinary Artillery much, so bear with me :P

VanduJunior How's this?

magioffire, Feb 17th at 5:58 PM (modified Feb 17th at 5:58 PM)

could this become compatible with the metal cooking tools added by culinary artillery? i'd love to have a mint green cauldron

VanduJunior, Feb 17th at 4:44 PM

This is a little too neon green for my tastes, could you make a version that's slightly darker? just by like idk, 10-20%? it looks like emerald armor lol

but yeah i would absolutely love a TFC styled bismuth bronze, I love that look

That_Snake_Jenny, Feb 17th at 9:36 AM

As a fellow former TFC enjoyer, the colour of bismuth bronze always bugged me. If I am going to endure having stuff made from the worst bronze, at least let me enjoy having it look super different and cool. The green is what made Bizmuth Bronze worth it IMO.

RenayEdor, Feb 11th at 9:55 PM

if this works on client side... hoo boy... I fking HATE the way bz.bronze looks... it looks like poop... Now, with this mod, it looks like something YOU ACTUALLY WANT TO USE >UUUU
