Recommended download (for Vintage Story 1.21.0-pre.1 - 1.21.6):
InvasionTweaks.zip
1-click install
Allows certain bosses to open doors (creates a cool Gladiator effect). Later, may include detailed invasion effects like drifter waves, drifters breaking blocks, or general drifter AI strategies.

Genuinely cool ideas RumpleRatskin, doubt the journal entries would be included but otherwise I like the sound of those bosses.
I had some great ideas for this.
Herald's of Rust
Would be a selection of "Rot Amalgamations" in their own seperate unique situations that require specific requirements to be met to spawn them during temporal storms.
Example bosses
Blood-plate Eidelon
Special journal entry upon killing it = "A letter from Carlin, Meister of Teirburg."
The abilities of the eidelon would ressemble the immobilised eidelon such as rock throwing but would be able to break blocks in its wake, practically being able to walk through most gates and structures not made of stone. Could only be spawned during a temporal storm if you have the specific piece of the immobilised eidelon that you can give to the treasure hunter.
The blood-plate eidelon would ressemble the eidelon model found in Tobias's cave but much more rusted and have a large bloody handprint on its face-plate (similar to LOTR Uraki helmets) and would sport missmatched pieces of bronze and corrupted locusts as rudimentary repairs.
Killing it would not only return the piece of the immobilised eidelon as it disappears when the blood-plate is spawned but would give roughly 2 temporal gears, numerous pieces of scrap metal and jonas parts, and finally, a random rare weapon (like a silver falx or forlorn hope estoc).
Drifter Hydra
Special journal entry upon killing it = "Barely legible account of a footman."
The abilities of the drifter hydra would be rather unique as it would be able to spawn surface drifters overtime and, when a wall blocks its path to the player, will slowly destroy massive chunks of terrain to reach the player. The numerous drifters embedded within it are able to throw at least 2 rocks at a time.
The Drifter Hydra would ressemble something akin to the human hydra from the game Fear and Hunger but replaced with Drifters in various states of rust/rot.
Summoning the drifter hydra would a random occurance but mainly spawns if the player had killed roughly 15+ drifters after the last storm and did not loot their bodies. The reward for killing the drifter hydra would be a massive amount of random drop items along with a guarenteed drop of a Black-bronze falx.
Journal Entries
A letter from Carlin, Meister of Teirburg, addressed to Jonas Falx.
"If you are reading this letter Sir Falx, I and Teirburg are surely lost to the Rot. It came from the mines, one of the Eidelons you had graciously built for our labourers, corrupted and bloodied, it tore apart the levies and crashed down the gates as the miners, lost to the Rot and feral, flooded into the streets. I regret to inform that this letter accompanies our last shipment of iron to the great work along with the last of Teirburg."
Transcribed letter found within an overturned carriage.
"It came out of the [The ink is smudged]. I managed to get away from the creature with my life and found a collection of [What is assumed to say Hanseatic] merchants whom fed me. I told them about the creature, it was something out of tartarus with [Paper torn from part of the description], rot covering faces, limbs, guts, [Paper torn from part of description], I thought I felt a dozen eyes staring at me while we prepare to leave for [The ink is smudged.]
Sorry if all my ideas are too ambitious, i just really get into writing stuff when it comes to it.
:D
Ooooh. I've been looking for a way to add some base defense elements to the game. This looks promising!
