Any dirt block converts to packed dirt on hit
Any packed dirt converts to rammed earth on hit
Hitting rammed earth causes it to cycle through available rammed earth textures
A starter flint hammer is available to craft via knapping to allow you to use this mod day 1 (your dirt hut will thank me for it)
NEW Hitting forest floor blocks converts them into low fertility soil

FNXR I think I see the issue we're going to have, they aren't creating a new block so it must still be a base block from the game, and so I think then that I can't really prevent the behaviour because the only way would be to not include the block type (eg. low fertility soil) so that would make my mod not work :) I think my best advice for this situation is be careful, LOL :)
After the big update I will be making some changes and I'm looking into adding an undo button for the last hit, that would probably fix your issues I think.
Critcher From what i understand, the mod slowly puts a "Texture" or something similar to the dirt block (As if grass was growing), slowly turning it into a road like block, but its still a dirt block when broken. I have to break them and place them again from time to time when using the hammer.
FNXR I took a quick peek but it looks like maybe it's placing slabs or something and I don't think any of the blocks we are changing have slab variants.
If I sounds like I just don't get what you meant, try to explain again and I'll see what we can do :)
Hello, can you dd compat with Trails mod?
Added the ability to smash forest floor block into low fertility soil.
So now you could :
Try it out on your next new game, it makes building your starter house way more fun IMHO.
Added discord channel for bug reporting and back link to website
As someone allergic to the crafting menu, especially when it comes to rotating through the rammed earth variants: thank youuuuuu.
amazing, thank you
This update now adds the rammed earth variant textures so you can hit the dirt with your hammer and get packed dirt, then hitting that will give you rammed earth basic, then continuing to hit the rammed earth with cycle it through all its varieties.
@HumanCarrion You got it! That was already in the works, and it will be in the next release, there will be new use feedback that I think feels pretty good. I think this one will probably be coming out after next weekend.
love it, could you please add rammed earth texture cycling after each hit thou pretty please
also kind of a nitpick but adding like 0.1 second delay after pressing the button for the block to get compacted would prob feel better sync up with the animation and stuff
im a big fan of rammed earth so im a big fan of this mod too.
@LunaGore You don't need anything besides a hammer, I just provided a flint hammer to allow new players to use it to but you simply use any hammer to smash any dirt block and it becomes packed dirt, and you smash any packed dirt to make rammed earth, that's it :)
So is this similar to "pack your shovel" where you need the respective recipe ingredients in your hotbar to "morph" the dirt -> packed -> rammed?
As a packed/rammed dirt lover, I enjoy this.
This is fun, use any hammer including the provided flint hammer to compress dirt blocks into packed dirt and packed dirt into rammed earth. You can convert your plain old dirt house into something nicer :)
