I wanted to make this mod for a while.
What? are you going to tell me the big, tall strong seraph can't yoink a boar? Or a Hen? Or even a little chick? Come on.
This QoL mod solves this, to move your livestock around simply ctrl+right click (empty handed) and be free of problems!
If you prefer (or find any conflict with other mods) you can go to CatchLivestockClientConfig.json and set EnableCatchHotkey to true, this will disable ctrl+right click and register a hotkey for catching a animal.

You can only pick up animals with generation > 0 (greater than 0)
That's it! To place it down simply aim and right click.

While I did test this up(generation, pregancy, lactation, weight etc...), this mod does involve patching on internal game classes and precise serialized data, if some other mod running doesn't like this and things get borked you probably going to lose a animal you put some hours into it.
Some things to be aware of:
- You can only pick up animals with generation > 0 (greater than 0).
You can edit this in the config file, but setting minimum generation to 0 means the mod will allow you to pick any entity because it is not checking for generation anymore.
- - Tammed animals with lower generation will still try to flee, as bighorns will still try to hurt you if you get too close.
- The mod uses the vanilla creature items, this means a animal you pick up won't always match the model/texture in your hands (hen genetics, goat horns, etc..), this is a limitation that I'm fine with for now.
- I did not test this with other creature mods.
Some ideas:
Livestock can only be carry on backpack slots. (To match Butchering) (Decided against, too restrictive)
Carrying livestock lock your slot in place until you place the animal down. (Added)
Animation for picking up animal so it doesn't look so snappy. (Added)
Handbook entry next to basket trap or something. (Added)

I would recommend that by default it only allows picking up animals from generation 10 onwards, which is when they no longer run from the player.

You gotta load a world with the mod once to generate it.
Where is the client config saved? I can't find it to set up a keybind so I can add/remove gear on elks.

Because you (if singleplayer) or the server (if multiplayer) has set the config MinGenerationToCatch to 0
every entity is pick able because the mod is not checking for generation anymore

Maybe rather than fixing it maybe add it as a "cheat" as a configerable toggle.

Having a bit of a conflict with this mod when used with both Draconis and Pegasus, same as the issue described by cooli2 and ChuckOregon with the Ctrl + RMB keybind. I'm unable to remove any and all equipment off my dragons, wyverns, and pegasi. Was really enjoying this mod otherwise but I need to leave it uninstalled for now :(

Have same issue with accidental picking up my elk. When I pick it then "old one" dies andd You can butcher it up but body remains there.
Also inventory in saddle bags also coppied so got same things again. Can`t pick up my cooking pot from it :( but will try it liek ChuckOregon said to sit on it and try pick it up
Having the same issue as cooli2 =C, cant remove stuff from my mount. I will be keeping this mod due to how helpful it is obviously lol, but it would be great to be able to put on different blankets again. Thank you in advance for all the wonderful mods btw!
*~UPDATE~* I can get the stuff off of my side slots (crocks/weapons) but i have to be on the mount first.
I found that the mod has a little conflict with tamed elks default interactions, the "add/remove equipment" keybind for elks is ctrl + rmb, the same exact one as the catch livestock keybind.
This causes a problem where I cant remove things from my elk because I keep picking the elk up instead of removing the equipment. There was also an instance that it created a dead elk of the first while giving me the elk item? But maybe that was just a whacky timming thing
On the plus side, the elk can back with equipment everytime I placed it back down xD
+1 to hoping for configurable generation. Feels weird being able to carry an animal before they're domesticated enough to rope them.
Cool mod! Can the minimum animal generation be configured? My friend is gonna love this.

If modded animals have a itemcreature and generation it will probably work fine!
SaltyWater - PureWinter made pickup baby animals mod, and it's compatible with genelib and literally anything else because it clones the watched attributes of the animal youre picking up. But im sure their mod is only for baby animals, no adults. Maybe y'all can work together and make an all-in one super-compatible, configurable mod together???

may add in a generation minimum to pick up the different animals, and anything above that threshold, you take bite/scratch damage during the carry period. Other than that, great mod as always!
