works with 1.22? I assume so?
Okay I love this mod, my friend and have used this mod very little when it comes to the mod itself. I wish we could use Canvas for boatbuilding and other applications that cloth is used in. Or twine to make proper bandages and not only poultices. We love the mod a lot, and can't wait to see what else comes from this mod when you get back to it!!
any update on Pipeleaf?
OH MY... Wow what an amazing looking plant I think I'm gonna plant a lot of that idk what that is but it looks fun so I'm gonna hurry and make a lot of terra preta... :D

EDIT: I would also like to point out that Immersive Fibercraft has support for this mod and others. XD
Finally a mod for my stoner tendencies
Been a few months, hoping you're doing well. Has the update progressed at all?
This is a fantastic mod. I commend both the mod creator and the mod commisioner.
Features i love about this mod
- i love being able to farm it since it is a very useful plant
- ruderalis is somewhat difficult to spot in the wild.
- growth stages fit perfectly in a 30 day per month game setting.
- a field looks incredible
- when it dies, it does not produce any seeds, or any buds so careless farming can wipe out your crop
- the temperatures range makes it a spring and fall plant in temperate climates, with a relatively short optimal growing window.
Balancing considerations
- sticks currently yield 2 charcoal each. Each plant generally yield one stick so that even a modest field of 64 of these plants will produce 128 charcoal. Plant larger fields quickly trivializes charcoal needs.
- each plant producing 4 seeds means exponential growth. This makes ruderalis far easier to scale than vanilla crops, undermining the intended scarcity of charcoal.
- buds provide healing, but linen bottlenecks mean farmers end up stockpiling seeds, cooked buds, or compost.
- rope production from leaves is extremely high, removing the need for cattails or vines. While convenient, it feels unbalanced.
My recommendations as a fan of this mod.
- reduce seed reproduction to align with vanilla crops.
- lower bud yield to limit seed reproduction and healing output.
- add spoilage to cooked buds. Even when cooked, they should eventually rot — just at a signifcantly slower rate. This makes stockpiling less optimal and brings ruderalis more in line with vanilla mechanics. The extra rot can also be put to good use in composting.
- adjust charcoal production to 1 to 1, or even 2 to1.
- increase leaf requirements for rope crafting, or perhaps require a tool of some sort to craft the rope (which has durability).
Final thoughts
Overall, ruderalis feels like a "super-plant", producing more seeds, buds, charcoal and rope in abundance. Fine tuning these outputs would keep it powerful but balanced within the game's ecosystem.I really do love this mod, and look forward to a config file and future updates!
Ambopteryx make it useful, help if your insane. like one strain can bring up your sanity, one can slow its decrese, one can give you mining speed, healing, there a lot you can do with this with each strain. Also you could include cross-breeding in some way, combining the effects of the strains or making a whole new effect
i wish i had the money to commision them to add some "smokeable" hemp types, like even if it does 0 buffs or debuffs
so tempted to make a propper weed mod for vs 1 day lol but sadly i am condemed to making masks and furry blender models for scraps of cash TwT maybe after the holidays i'll have the time
Wouldn't mind seeing some more heat-resistant hemp, and taller plants would look great
This is a really cool mod and I’m excited to see where it goes, but If I'm going to be honest, the extra bulk of it adding all these new items is keeping me from instantly installing.
I’d much rather see the Hemp Fibers just be a 1-1 alternative to its flax counterpart. In fact, I see little reason it couldn’t be used in combo with Flax Fibers as well to make twine, linens, ropes, whatever. Having it make its own custom bags and chests, it’s cool, but for instance, I use mods that change the values of containers. Thus, if I want to use your mod I’m going to have to go in and manually scale it every time you update, and while that’s a me problem, it might stop others from enjoying your awesome work!
Same thoughts with the Roasted Buds, why not simply have them be an alternative option in place of Horsetail. With this mod there’s the ability to regrow large amounts of these buds to make cheap healing items in mass. I just don’t see why it needs its own unique healing item.
I don’t mean to discourage creativity, but I think you should probably consider trying to keep this mod as “light” as possible - especially if you plan on adding smoking and everything that comes with that. Try to use as many vanilla recipes and items as possible. For instance, we wouldn’t need a new paper type for rolling a joint, just use Parchment!
Regardless of my 2c, this is a really cool mod! Great work!
LunaTheFox
As of right now no, but I can see about adding recipes in a future update.
can I use the help fibers in place of most linen recipes?
SpacemanSpliff
Not currently, but it will likely come in the next content update.
Can the hemp fibers in this mod also be used with Windmill sails?
AnvilKnight
I mean ruderalis isnt that bad after ya cure it for a couple months or process it into keif/hash/concentrates. But it has an extremely low yeild in terms of being processed into those too.
As someone who cultivates cannabis in the real world I understand and see the usefulness of having other hemp species for improved plant matter productions ontop of having medicinal and recreational benefits.
For example got a poor qaulity bed? light one up for a longer nights rest and skip more hours of the night would be a nice feature from a cannabis mod.
Ill consider the aspects of a cannabis mod and other hemp strains but wont be any promises. Im pretty happy with having ruderalis as it is, more features and usage will come though.
You cannot begin to comprehend how many people want a weed mod for Vintage Story. It's kinda funny. That's kind of why they want you to put in the compatibility. Even though, technically, Ruderalis is probably the worst thing to smoke ever.
Azraile
Well, ruderalis isnt exactly the best thing to be pipe-leafing. its harsh but compatibility will happen.
Oh! This would be perfect for the Heat Retention mod's oakum, of course.
suprised pipeleaf wasn't the first thing done =p
VidRyan
Thanks for the heads up! I've fixed both of these issues in the v1.0.2 update.
I don't know if it's a conflict with other mods or something is legitimately wrong, but I can't seem to get buds to cook in the firepit. They recieve heat and the green progress bar shows up, but it just fills up fully and nothing happens. I got annoyed that one step wasn't working, so I used creative mode to replace them with the roasted buds, but then I couldn't craft them with linen (neither normal stitch that I had on hand, nor the square stitch that I pulled out of creative) to make poultices. I can't imagine what mod I have would cause a conflict like this. Maybe better firepits? Expanded matter? I'll try again later in a creative world with mods disabled to see if I can narrow down what's going on.
Edit: made a creative world with al other mods disabled. Raw buds still won't complete roasting in the firepit, and none of the linen varients create poultices with the roasted buds. I'm on version 1.21.4 if that makes a difference.

Maybe we could use fibre could be used for wicks and once hemp oil is implimented further it can be used for oil lamps.
Surely hemp fiber could be used to make candles, no?
FloridaManMorbid
This is planned.
Hopefully have compatibility with culinary artillery once that mod gets updated aswell to have more use for hemp oil.
This is awesome, a cool feature to see would being able to press the buds into oil. Maybe for a bandage craft, similar to the honey sulfur poultice!
awesome! the models look beautiful and the canvas fiber is a great idea
+1 to the pipeleaf compatibility suggestion
Magnificient! Gonna install it as I can't resist the urge to cultivate this crop. Thanks for the commission and thanks for making it! I would install pipeleaf if this mod was compatible with it. Heck yeah. More varieties pls! Also, hemp is a great product irl so it's good to see it in the game too.
El_Neuman
Thank you for your kind words! I'm glad you enjoy my mods!
MitchHasWAP
I will look into it at some point and see what I can do.
I love your mods so much — you can really feel the heart and passion put into them. They’re incredibly well-made. Thank you so much!
Ive been waiting for a mod like this! You should consider compatibility with the pipeleaf mod if possible
