Adds arms and armour of the fourteenth (and early 15th) centuries, as well as a couple of other neat things. Currently adds a steel and iron tier French Style Plate Harness based on historical tomb effigies, as well as a 'Knightly Girdle' belt item designed to render over armour. Furthermore, this mod adds a new 'Esquire class' representative of the chivalric knights and men-at-arms of Late-Medieval Europe. Additionally, with Tabards installed the mod shortens the tabards to a more historically-accurate length both for the armour of this mod and the base game armour.

This mod is explicitly compatible with the following mods:

-Combat Overhaul

-Visored Helmets

-Tabards

- Warm Gambesons

Massive thank you and credit to Bronze_Granum for the Visored Helmets mod, the code of which this mod makes use of, and which is a dependency for this mod.

Requires Visored Helmets v.1.1.3 minimum by Bronze_Granum as a dependency, as well as Tabards v.0.2.1 by Maltiez as a dependency (this will be changed in a future release).

  • Added the Esquire Class. This custom class essentially serves as a 'knight' class. Somewhat similar to the Blackguard but with more of a focus on defensive bonuses and mobility than offense. The Esquire also does not suffer from the ranged combat penalties the Blackguard does. I plan to add more unique mechanics to this class in the future (namely a bonus to damage whilst mounted).

-Major Update.
-Added a Steel French Plate Harness based on knightly tomb effigies circa 1356-1415. Equivalent stats to steel plate armour. When combat overhaul is installed the armour provides better piercing protection in exchange for a slightly slower movement speed. Iron and Meteoric Iron variants shall be added soon. 
-Added a Knightly Girdle. A more robust version of the vanilla 'Squire Belt' that renders over armour and is craftable at a steep cost.
-Reworked Steel Sparrowbeak Helmet to be part of the new French Plate Harness Set.
-Added Flavour Text to all items as a description.
-Added compatibility with warm gambesons mod. When the French Plate Harness is worn, it will provide the warmth of a tailored gambeson set.
-Added tabards mod by Maltiez as a dependency, allowing the mod to make the tabards shorter and more 14th century like when installed. The plan initially was to have the mod implement a 14th century surcoat when ran alongside the tabards mod, but I didn't manage to figure that out in time. Will rework to make the shorter tabards a seperate item, as long as no longer requiring tabards mod as a dependency, in a future release.
-Fixed Broken Crafting Recipes. Added Crafting Recipes for all new items. Furthermore, if Combat Overhaul is installed, the French Plate Harness set will require tailored gambeson to craft instead of normal gambeson.

  • Lots of under the hood changes to make the mod more dynamically coded and thus allow easier implementation of future content. Expect a content drop soon.
  • Rebrand to 'Fourteenth Century Armoury'
  • Quick and Dirty Patch to the Steel Sparrowbeak Bascinet (Visor Up) to make it work with the new Combat Overhaul Patch. Once the Visored Helmets mod implements a better solution I'll switch to that for this mod.
  • Updated armour stats to match new Combat Overhaul update.

CherryRook apologies for the super late reply! In case you were still wondering basically it just has to do with sizing the models such that they are larger and thus render over the armour. Let me know if you want more details!

Greetings, first off love this mod. Great models and i particularly love the belt (i'm a huge sucker for plaque belts)!!

Not sure if this is a good place to ask but i have a question regarding the belt. What code exactly causes it to show over the armor ? I tried to look through the code but i am a noob when it comes to coding so i couldn't make out anything specific. The reason i ask is because i'd like to make the squire belt and some others from vanilla show over armor (particularly over CO armor). Any tips would be greatly appriciated !
