There was an age of wealth and power — master craftsmen forged blades fit for kings, knights grew fat on coin and blood, women wove their own webs of influence, and lords ruled with iron hands.
Wars raged in the name of the king, calling the boldest and the strongest to seize glory — or die chasing it.
That meant every blacksmith, craftsman, and worker strove to give their best. The most skilled members of the guilds approached the status of scholars and devoted their entire lives to perfecting the crafts they were so deeply committed to.
In these times, armors of unquestionable quality appeared, forged with techniques that only the greatest of masters could replicate.
All of this, of course, is now lost to time.
What remains are a few forgotten scrolls, passed down through generations scarred by hardship and suffering, now left to rot on dust-choked shelves and in the deepest shadows of abandoned strongholds.
Only a handful of these schematics survived the devastating scourge of rot, scattered across the broken world — waiting to be unearthed, claimed, and brought back to glory!

This series of mods aims to introduce historically inspired armors into the game.
This one is dedicated to the Hussar armor sets.
Armors added by this mod are improved versions of the vanilla items, which serve as the base for crafting these modded armors.
Hussar armor is an epitome of speed, you walk with it faster and your stats drain slower while the defensive stats stay unchanged.
It also has two type of each helmet for ranged / mele combat.
You will need a specific schematic, which can be found in newly generated ruins or may appear at the Treasure Trader once he restocks after you install this mod.
Due to the rarity of these schematics, their price won’t exactly be a bargain.
Anyway, this is a simple content mod at heart.
I’m aware that the recipes are VERY expensive, and that’s intentional — these armors represent very late-game technology. On the bright side, once crafted, the armor is easy to maintain.
Of course, all feedback is welcome, and the availability of this armor in survival mode can be rebalanced in the future if there’s enough pushback.

From the Memoirs of Grandmagister Cardinalis Thomas IX. The Pure
[Scene: The forge. Sparks rise. The sound of hammering fills the hall. But this time,
Thomas notices something strange — instead of bare steel plates, the workbench is
littered with straps, furs, feathers, and gleaming wing-like frames. Eldred is bent over,
sewing heavy leather straps into a great winged harness. At his side lies a half-finished
Hussar cuirass, massive, polished, and intimidating. Thomas stares in disbelief.]
Thomas (mocking tone):
Well, well, well.
What do we have here?
Is that… sewing, master? Sewing?
From the man who nearly fainted at the sight of my Landsknecht doublet?
[Eldred freezes mid-stitch, eyes narrowing. He doesn’t turn immediately.
A deep, grumbling sound emerges from his chest.]
Master Eldred (gruffly, without looking up):
They saved me, Thomas.
Thomas (pretending shock):
Saved you? Theese cavalerymen outside?
You mean to tell me the same man who called Landsknecht armor “a carnival of jesters”…
is now making— wings?
[Eldred slams the needle into the leather with the force of a hammer blow.]
Master Eldred (reluctantly):
A bear, Thomas.
A Devil Bear!
Came at me while I was walking in the woods.
And who thundered down the path like angels of wrath? The polish gentlemen!
Their spears split the air, their hooves shook the earth—
and that bear… slain before it could bite this old hammer arm clean off.
Thomas (smirking):
So the mighty Eldred, Champion of Plate, Defender of Steel, Unbending Purist…
is sewing leather straps for bird wings because some cavalrymen showed up in time?
Master, I feel betrayed. History will call you a tailor.
Master Eldred (growling):
I am no tailor, boy!
I am adapting! Their new armors will be resonating my gratitude.
The Hussar armor is no frill. It is majesty!
Do you not see?
These wings are not mere ornaments — they are Guardian Angels, forged in oak and steel!
When they charge, the sound alone chills the marrow of their enemies.
It is the roar of Heaven’s gates opening!
Thomas (grinning wider):
So you call it Hussar eh? And the fur? Dare I ask what animal you’re dressing them with?
Please don’t tell me—
Master Eldred (suddenly fiery, standing tall, arms wide):
The pelt of that very beast!
The Devil Bear that sought my flesh now adorns the shoulders of the righteous!
Its hide transformed into a trophy of victory!
Every strike they endure will echo with the memory of the monster that fell!
Its spirit chained to the service of steel!
[Thomas steps back, half amused, half impressed, as Eldred begins gesturing
wildly, caught in the grip of his own fevered vision.]
Master Eldred (roaring with joy now):
Wings like the seraphim!
Steel like the sun!
And upon their backs — the fur of the fallen foe!
The Hussars do not hide behind plate, Thomas.
They become the storm!
Thunder, wind, fire, and death — all sewn into one holy terror!
Thomas (muttering with a smirk, under his breath):
Sewn, indeed.
Master Eldred (ignoring him, lost in ecstasy):
Behold, Thomas!
Not armor. Not costume.
A covenant between man, beast, and angel!
The Hussar Ascended!
[The forge glows brighter as if the fire itself leans in to listen. Eldred
spreads the winged frame high, feathers trembling in the heat.
Thomas just shakes his head, amused, as the master has clearly
forgotten all about apologies.]
[Scene fades with Eldred laughing like a man possessed, clutching
the Hussar wings, while Thomas quietly returns to his own corner,
muttering something about hypocrisy never looking so magnificent.]

I really like your mods, but could you add animal skins to the plate armor option?
Also, don't you think the armor is too exposed in the leg area? I think it would be nice to add something like a caftan that covers the legs below the knees or above.

PolskiPacker Im in a middle of a big overhaul of all the FA mods, ill definetly fix this in the next version :-)
I managed to fix that in .json file changing material to just iron
AladarCZ there is a problem with meteoric iron version. cupronickel nails and strips and uncraftable.
Finally, an armor worthy of being worn atop my horse. Light enough to not break its back, with just enough showmanship to make my enemies fear for their foolish lives.
@AladarCZ No, 1.21. Because I started the game with a friend before version 1.22.2. It's not really a big deal, the mod itself works fine, it's just that the icons are off. Maybe when I upgrade to 1.22, the problem will be solved, Thanks

AladarCZ do your armor mods come with seperate pieces of armor (sleeves, greaves etc) or only complete body armor?

ShadowWolf_962 I avoided that to prevent feature creep, generating lots of variants can be very straining for the game performance, but im slowly working on overhauling my mods to work with Attribute Rendering Library that should basically solve this problem, so after that, its very much planned :-)

so this works without combat overhaul?
would it be possible to make it so if the cavileir chest plate can be crafted with all bear pelts instead of Just the brown bear? (i live in the wintery wasteland and i only have access to polar bear hides) and would that change the pelt color on the armor aswell?

/1 removes the second {} from the fa-hussar-treasurehunter.json (the one that adds it to buying list of the trader)
/0 removes the first {} from the fa-hussar-treasurehunter.json (the one that adds it to selling list of the trader)
Same for the stackrandomizer patch and useful traders if you use them on your server
Also, always remove from the bottom, if you go from the top, the "/1" will become "/0" once the original "/0" is removed so your patch for "/1" wont work because it wont be able to find anything
AladarCZ throwing this here because I'm running out of ideas to get it working. I'm looking to remove the schematic from the Trader's buying and selling pools since a server we're hosting only wants them to be loot/given by an Admin. So far every attempt I've made at removing them has instead caused a crash. Any suggestions or idea to do it?

hello hirt to say your mod is awesome but it seen that the bear armor variant (the chestplate and leggings) seems to dont give any protection when im wearing it is is supposed to only be a decoration armor ?

Great mod! looks really slick.
Though one issue I've found is that the dragoon leggings tend to z-fight with the gambeson chest armor.
Hey, I love armors form your mod, but I noticed that armors from your mods can not be repaired by Agnieszka (the Nadiyan Blacksmith), while vanilla and some other modded armors can. When I tried to fix hussar armor, she said that I wasn't holding any armor she could repair. Could you please fix that?

Sl3dg3 Right now im elbow deep in some reworks of my older models, after the patches im planning to create a full plate Jousting / Stechzeug armor. Im not familliar with enchanting mod. Next eventual compatibility im planning is for Visored Helmets. So not in forseeable future.

What do you plan on making next, if there is a plan, and do your armors work with enchanting?
I have to say first of all, I have loved your series of mods. Gives me something to look forward to beyond the basic armor sets in the game.
Secondly, however, Combat Overhaul apparently had a huge updated that changed around some of the armor stats. I do not know if you saw/are already working on it, but I thought it would be a good idea to let you know just in case.
I cannot wait to see more projects from you.

So for some reason I can't see images on this mod, and only this mod.
When I open the page the small image icons are there (but empty) then slowly dissapear one by one. It does this on firefox and edge.

Great mod! Only quirk is that the Lobster-Tailed pot helmet should be called 'Szyszak' - it's currently 'Sziszak'.

Raven0V Its intentional, the price in slightly lower durability is bought by much better walking speed, less debufs etc. and mainly, much cheaper repair cost than brigandine :-)

with combat overhaul, the cavalier armor has less durability than the brigandine (wich is used to craft it), is it intentional?
Love it just the thing I've been hoping for really fills in a niche in styles!!
Also, the armor in comabt overhaul only fills the outer slots is this intended?
Now I hate to do the ask right after the delivery but might a black bear skin version of the cavalier armour be possible down the road?
