Latest release (for Vintage Story 1.21.0 and 1.21.1, outdated):
theworkingclassesrevamp_1.0.4.zip  1-click install

Original mod can be found here
https://mods.vintagestory.at/theworkingclasses

This is a 1.21.X fork of The Working Classes.

This fork also removes the dependency on Trait Acquirer. Now works without or without it
If you'd like to use Trait Acquirer, I've made it compatiable with this version of it
https://mods.vintagestory.at/show/mod/30821

If original author asks for removal, this will be removed immediately

Can you please fix error in theworkingclassesrevamp\recipes\grid\woodsman.json that allows everyone to craft 4 parchment from 2 cattails? It is missing the trait requirement

@MrRogvold  You can disable class specific recipes in world gen or with /worldconfig to be able craft everything. The trait book thing is intended behaviour fyi.

When checking the mods folder in game, it says the mod isn't working and requires dependancy "em v3.0.0"
What dependancy is that?

Frozti Could I ask you to update the improved crocks ?

Would only need to replace "game:crock-burned-*" with "game:crock-{color}-fired" in \assets\theworkingclassesrevamp\recipes\grid\kitcheninventor.json

Many thanks for keeping the mod updated for 1.21.X

Hello Frozti !
Is there a possibility to get all working classes at the same time? I am playing in SMP world and would want to have all classes as I have to progress all direction by myself. Maybe a config option I don't see?

Also noticed, that if you already found books from "Trait Acqurier Revamp", have eaten those and got bonuses and later apply book from this mode you will loose all previous traits. But it work the opposite dirrection :)

Many thanks for reply!

Hi, just thought I would pop by and say thank you for keeping this going. 2025 has been "a year" in every sense of the word but it's nice to see this still being used and people forking it for use in 1.21.

Please keep this one up, I am planning to pick this up again, but realistically it will be for early next year at the earliest and might end up being a 1.22 release, there is a lot for me to update in the main branch from the new clay colours to actual liquids in some areas. But  thank you for keeping this going, its much appreciated.

If you are open to chatting about the trait aquirer functions please let me know. That seemed the easiest way to get learnable traits into the mod but it wasn't my original plan. Thanks again.

Frozti Thanks for answering!:)

Qwernack - You'd just need to replace any working class items after updating (i.e repair tools, miner lanters, etc), other than that the classes should just work.

Hi, thanks for making this! How would one go about replacing Working Classes with this fork, when upgrading a server/world from 1.20 to 1.21? Can we make a seamless transition?

Frozti , Sep 29th 2025 at 7:16 AM

AlfaLags - It was at somepoint compatible as per the original mod, but I'm not sure anymore as I don't use Combat Overhaul

AlfaLags, Sep 28th 2025 at 2:10 AM

is this compatible with Combat Overhaul? As in, does it add the respective weapon proficiencies for classes?

Amazing work, thanks for keeping it alive
