Want to have the choice to go the harder route straight to iron instead of dealing with copper tools? This mod gives you that choice!
With this mod, progression has been branched out while not affecting the main regular mining progression (meaning you aren't forced to follow my new mechanics).
So now if you want to skip straight to iron multiple tools have been made to allow you to make this jump in a semi realistic way.
Hammers: New stone hammers have been made with their own specific stats relating to how effective they are in real-life for the purpose of both mining and smithing, being alternative tier 1 pickaxes just for mining stone and quartz.
Quartz has also been given a new stone, craftable from using a regular metal hammer or these stone hammers on a quartz chunk. These stones can be knapped into a hammer, which is a tier 3 pickaxe but slower than the copper pickaxe.
You can also make a tier 1 anvil out of quartz chunks, which allows you to smith copper and anvil iron.
Anvil iron is a new material with only one purpose, making an iron anvil through a path that doesn't require a bronze anvil, but is more expensive and takes longer to make.
To make anvil iron, you need to crush an iron bloom and re-fire the bloomery with the anvil iron bits inside to make anvil iron ingots.
Some recipes and item tiers have been altered in order for the progression to work. Quartz and stone are now breakable with tier 1 pickaxes.
Regular hammers cannot mine blocks like the new stone hammers.
This mod allows many new progression routes reducing RNG dependancy, for example you no longer are forced to find or to pan for 40 copper nuggets, due to these hammers being able to crush ore, and due to the quartz hammer being able to mine up to iron.

If you're still around, can you change this to a patch mod instead of an overwrite one? It causes hard incompatibilities with a lot of other mods since it's overwriting base game files.
Thank you for your holy work. Will try it.
