Mod seems to run into trouble displaying the correct number of items if combined with the Salty´s Item Clumps mod.
Any way to disable the Highlighter for placed blocks?
still works for 1.22.4
Would be nice if there was a way to toggle off highlights for uninteractable hostile projectiles, like the ones bowtorns fire. Great mod otherwise!
I found an issue where mods that add 'flair' text look a little weird =D
I had to parse this out in the other mod i have, i'll see if i don't forget to remove the formating from this so it's compatible with the sort of items.
Thank you for the update! I've been watching and waiting for this ... such a useful mod! 👍
nice. tysm
Yukiya i'll probably be updating this soon to be up to date with 1.22 underlying framework. No promisses but since the configuration ui mostly relies on VSImGui i'll take a look and see how hard is to categorize and provide those in the configs, if it's not that much of a pain i don't see an issue with having that.
Have you considered making it possible to set a separate color per category of item? (food/wood/stone/tools/clothes)
And potentially even per sub-category.
I figure it's a lot of work, but that would skyrocket the usability a 100-fold when looking for stuff (I guess the current name tags also serve that purpose but color highlights are cooler :P ).
Love the mod btw.
is the thumbnail Ai generated ?
absolutely broken on 1.22.0 pre3. items are highlighted normally, but cant mold, knap, place stuff like clay forms if something is not picked up nearby. mod is always on by default on my side

I don't know why, but I can't see the names of items lying on the ground. I can see the particles and the mod is on.HeiromancerMoss yes, you Configlib and VSImGui mod. You can find the links in the description above.
What is the menus in the first screenshot, is it the config and imgui mods? asking because i cant find where to turn on the names.
A config item to rebind the hotkey would be helpful to resolve input conflicts with other mods.
Thank you!
ah thank you very much!
R0D96 it was indeed broken, new version (1.2.2) should fix it.
Im unsure but it isnt working for some reason, I am pressing shift f and havent changed any configs but I'm not getting any particles to show up. I am also on the latest version
Awesome I'll check it out, thanks!
Tasshroom33 check version 1.2.1, see if it is what you're looking for (you should be able to disable just the items).
Tasshroom33 that's a good point. Some people may even want to use this in conjuction with the projectile glow mod (instead of using this one to track them).
You added support for projectiles but is there a way to ONLY use it for projectiles? Thanks for the mod!
TheRealFlynn ArtGnat version 1.1.1 should hopefully address the issues you reported. Let me know if otherwise.
happy to help! thanks a bunch for your mod!
ArtGnat apologies for the regression changes. I'll check them out over the weekend.
The new display names of items on the ground when sneaking feature is on by defualt for me. and I can't turn it off in the config, because it says False/off in the config.
I just wanted the normal temp highlight particles when pressing shift+F. and that doesn't seem to work either maybe because of the labeled item mode being stuck on.
TheRealFlynn you're right, in an attempt to simplify the dependenci managment i actually added them to the dependencies so the mod itself would ask you to download. That said the code should work without those dependencies as it should be configurable through json file without the rest. I'll try and revert that so the mod doesn't force anyone to use those dependencies if they don't want to.
tried to download update. Mod is in mod manager but won't activate because it's missing dependencies.
It would appear:
ConfigLib + ImGui are now required
or at lest ConfigLib is. I haven't download ImGui yet and it can now be activated.
tyrOS it is possible but it does go already a bit beyhond the ideia, which is this case is just trying to address leaving items behind when your farming/gathering etc. What you're asking you can already do with blocks like block overlay (which is basically an X-ray mod, which if you care not to abuse it you could actually just highlight the surface ores in a small radius)
Would it be possible to basically copy this idea but specifically for surface nuggets? trudging through a bunch of the random bushes and missing the single surface tin deposit within 10,000 blocks of spawn is one of the nightmares everyone has. Or if this mod could be expanded for that? from what i'm reading it's only for dropped items, which is still nice even with the entity radar mod.
Given the large amount of ground clutter this game has, this is another mod that should be vanilla or at least have the option to turn on in vanilla.
Willownezz if you have config lib and imgui you should be good. Make sure you're not using the latest versions of those two that are already updated for 1.21 and may cause you compatibility issue (if you're still on 1.20.12).
I updated, and I am using ImGui, but the config is not showing up, do I need to do something for it to work ?
U are the BEST. Love it. Thx
EPerboni you can now configure the distance at which the particles show up. I highly recomend the use of ConfigLib + ImGui if you want to also change the color of the particles.
EPerboni haven't added configuration yet.
Hello, how i change to 20 blocks highlightRange ?
Thanks for the toggle mode! I appreciate your work :)
So since several people wanted to have a continous mode i've added it as a simple shortcut "Ctrl + Shift + F". This should keep the effect always on. It still respects range and appearance (Particle frequency is a bit reduced but not significantly). Let me know if you find any issue with it.
is there a way to toggle them on to show all the time ?
love the update works perfectly haven't lost a arrow yet :D
OldManYells, It would be great to have such a feature.
mavman88 added support for Projectiles. I'm not having much time to work on the multiple things i have at hand so i kept it simple and it retains the same approach and range that other items have for now.
mavman88 will consider it.
i would love to suggest that if possible could you add arrow entities to the list because this method is so much easier to see than the glowing arrow's mod
PlayDenys do you mean having the shortcut toggle them on or off to keep them on all the time?
permanently enables/disables particles plys??
Arkathus noted. I need to fix the issue where whenever you move the effect stops but it shouldn't be a problem. Will most likely add that.
Uladentar i wanted to create a radius that wouldn't be to heavy on the client as i'm not sure how stressfull this can be but i'll definetly look into adding a range parameter but i may do some tests to create an hard limit or at least ensure that a warning is present to highlight that up a certain point it can be tolling on the client. But i guess that with a warning in place it's up to the user to use it responsably.
Honestly, almost exactly what I was looking for; the only thing that'd be better is if the radius was also configurable; I'm using the Acorns mod, and those suckers can really go flying! A lot of times, the 10-block radius doesn't seem to highlight them all...
How about adding a function that permanently enables/disables particles, like a switch?
By the way, I loved it — it's really good and truly helps a lot. I'm using it on 1.20.11 and it works perfectly. I would just like to be able to keep it always active (for example, pressing Shift+F so the particles stay on, but slightly reduced to avoid overloading), and if you want to deactivate it, just use the key combination again.
