Domestication

Spoiler!

To hatch eggs, you simply place it down on the ground, they will hatch after sometimes. Important that the area is lit and also big enough for the baby dino to hatch into, it it is too small they will not hatch until there is more space.

Similarly growing will take and require enough space for them grow into their adult form.

Feeding adults, they are herbivorous, you use a large trough or throw the food on the ground, they require 100 portions max(less depending on species).

Friendly after 3 generation, you can lead them by the rope after 3 geneations, peaceful after 10 geneations

Riding

Spoiler!
You craft a saddle and bridle specific to their family, this would allow you ride them.

Hitching Station

Spoiler!

If have dinosaur mount that you want to stay put, you can craft a hitching station,

Simply place it down near your mount and it will stay close to it,

If the dinosaur is not domesticated or still too wild, it may knock down the hitching station

Almostgamer Just get the LOP patch so you don't have to worry about this. Handles all LOP mods.

Almostgamer, Dec 3rd 2025 at 6:38 PM (modified Dec 3rd 2025 at 6:42 PM)

Sivarous where do you stick the gait behavior once you have it? I know next to nothing about code and dont want to break everything trying this fix

Rythmik, Oct 15th 2025 at 11:40 PM

I have been having some trouble with the dinosaur mods. I find a dinosaur bone carcass on the ground and i can hit it and drain its health but i can't break it to allow it to spawn its kind in the area. Is there any fix for this?

Sivarous, Sep 29th 2025 at 7:27 PM (modified Sep 29th 2025 at 10:41 PM)

Xyconis I noticed this too and tried looking into it. Trying to spawn them in with console command gives a small hint that there is something to do with adults not having gaits. I suppose that has to do with them being mounts as non mountables are placable/spawnable.

Worked out a temporary fix after asking around.
Find the tamed elkJSON and transfer all the portions related to 'gait' behavior. The issue is indeed that in the 1.21.0 changelog that •Tweak: Added EnityBehaviorGait.

So far it has worked with Ankylosaurids that I personally have had the issue with. Also may want to look at changing ownable or despawn parameters. I know I have had issues with my dinosaurs despawning

Xyconis, Sep 27th 2025 at 10:55 PM

Since updating to 1.21.1 I noticed adults of several of your mods are no longer spawning (or spawnable at all in creative) but juveniles are running around and never maturing instead! As much as I love running around and finding babies everywhere this might prove difficult to domesticate my precious olorotitans!
Awesome mods though I can't play without them!

Please add compatibility with Butchering mod. We love hunt on this creatures and cook them! Yammy!

Yvanortra, May 4th 2025 at 6:14 PM

ok so the mod does has a carcass system ^^ no interference with carcass thingies from other mods.

thanks for the explanation :D was really confused.

laughinggas , May 4th 2025 at 12:14 PM

Yvanortra

Thank you for reminding me, yes, I will be removing the carcass system, seeing as the nest already kind of serves as a spawn blocker, as well configlib allow you to set the spawn rate

Yvanortra, May 4th 2025 at 11:13 AM

great mods so far, i love dinosaurs!

but i found sth confusing. Its an dino carcass, like the bones, but i can kill it. the dead carcass is not removeable.

i have several mods installed, so i think there might be some type of interference with the fauna of the stone age mod series.

That mod does spawn carcasses to block spawns of dangerous animals like moose.

when looking at it it says ankylosauria:item-creature-ankylosauria-carcass (am playing with two of your mods, my fav dinos)

or hadrosauridea:item-creature-hadrosauridea-carcass (killed by player...) and i cant get rid of it.

You're the best, man! Thank you!

laughinggas , May 1st 2025 at 8:24 AM

MyNameWill

The issue is fixed in the latest update

laughinggas , Apr 30th 2025 at 8:55 PM

MyNameWill

That's a bug, i'll roll out fix for it when I upload the next mod pack, for now you try to can use trough with food to see if it unstuck them

MyNameWill, Apr 30th 2025 at 6:50 PM

I'm not sure if it's already known, but it seems like these guys cannot climb over blocks. If there is any 1 block deep hole they'll just get stuck in it. I've got multiple around my base plus some babies that I'm raising who are stuck in holes and I have no idea how to get them out.

laughinggas , Apr 28th 2025 at 12:36 AM

TelumAza

I will take a look at it

TelumAza, Apr 27th 2025 at 3:07 PM

I find that with this serise of mods I can't actually get anything from the bodies with my knife, im wondering if its a conflict with the butchery mod. It might also be hitboxes as eventually i can sometimes get it to pop up.

Kew, Apr 24th 2025 at 4:04 PM

laughinggas Yay! Thank you so much!
So happy my exitement paid off, when I saw all mods had been updated :)

laughinggas , Apr 24th 2025 at 11:09 AM

Kew

you can now using Config Lib, change their spawn rate

Kew, Apr 23rd 2025 at 4:26 PM

This series of mods is amazing, thank you so much for making it!

I only have one wish, for a config to control the spawn rate of the them.

I picture them being a very exiting find if they were rarer.

laughinggas , Apr 21st 2025 at 11:18 PM

No, you will get eggs when you harvest during incubation

BigBabaBoy, Apr 21st 2025 at 9:37 PM

Must those eggs be mature to harvest them?

laughinggas , Apr 21st 2025 at 7:12 PM

To loot them you need to smack the nest a bunch of time and then harvest it.

BigBabaBoy, Apr 21st 2025 at 6:36 PM

Thank you very much for your incedible work, all your mods are awesome. I had to deinstall the Sauropod Mod, cause they are way to loud and to near my base xD But every other dinosaur so far is pretty neat and sound is pretty good.Only thing i didnt figured out yet is how to loot nests.

laughinggas , Apr 20th 2025 at 5:54 AM

What I mean by taxidermy is similar to what FotSA does. Fossil where you excavate from the ground on the other hand will be something I consider much later.

Direct, Apr 20th 2025 at 12:29 AM

Btw just wanna say, its awesome ur adding all these dinosaurs with details n features pretty damn quickly too, super cool n much appreciated. Only thing i think of that would be cool is fossils to possibly find and collect to have it look like a museum, unless thats what taxidermy is gonna be lol.

laughinggas , Apr 19th 2025 at 12:32 PM

I believe do make horn sounds, it's just little rare to hear them roar

AstroFox, Apr 19th 2025 at 2:01 AM

Awesome! Parasaurolophus and Lambeosaurus are some of my favorite dinos.

One recommendation would be for some of them do the horn sounds with their crests.

Joho, Apr 18th 2025 at 9:30 PM

Oh, sick. Super excited to add these beauties to my game.
