Now with Config lib support
Adds:
-Iron and steel wheellock pistols
-Flintlock Arquebus
-Iron and steel Bossi Carbines
-Double Barrel Blunderbuss (Animation needs work, but otherwise functional)
-Parts to make the above guns
I will add other guns with no regards to balance or usefulness (eventually)

Would love to see a flintlock pistol or bossi carbine. I've got an itch for cap and ball revolvers, making the caps would be difficult, but you get six shots if you can reload

Ahimsa Works on my machine with latest version of Firearms, Crossbows, and Overhaullib, clean up your cache and reinstall the mods, also make sure they're all updated
Can't seem to boot up a game with this mod's most recent version? In the crash logs cleint-main I see "[Error] Exception: Unexpected character encountered while parsing value: [. Path 'CockingAnimation', line 200, position 23."
Prochimbo I recommend you go through the tutorials on the wiki, they give you a basic idea of how mods work. As for the files, they'll be the the shapes folder of the mod

A_Whisper Good ideas, I only added the steel bossi carbine because someone suggested it, I'll probably add an iron one soon. Also Jonastech powered railgun is an interesting idea.

I'm surprised we got a steel bossi but not an iron one. We've got an iron pistol, so the recipes for the components are already there, why not make one of those as well?
Also, if we're listing wishlist stuff, some kind of jonastech gun that uses temporal magitech to fire scrap like some kind of railgun could be very interesting.

YEAH this is what I've been looking for! More firearm variety would be fantastic to see! ESPECIALLY paper cartridges to speed up the process and provide an alternative to the linen wadding!
Actually a big suggestion I have is for some of the weapons, allow a simpler wadding to be used- or parchment to be used to make paper cartridges that are more efficient.

Not a Mod Dev myself, but I do feel pretty confident in my ability to read. Especially the "Will Ignore" part at the end. Like I said, it just scared me at first glance. 😂

Just to bring to your attention, as it scared me at first glance. Everytime I boot up my Singleplayer instance (so quite often):
"[Error] Item with code extrafirearms:firearm-firelance-copper has defined an item class ExtraFirearms:GunOnSpearItem, but no such class registered. Will ignore."
Darkini Fixed the issue, try the new version and see if it's been fixed
The Spencer 1882 as the cartridge stage version of the blunderbuss would be a good fit for repeating shotguns, followed by the Winchester 1897 (I salivate at the thought of the the trenchgun variant with a detachable bayonet and brass case shells mowing down drifters) as a direct upgrade to the Spencer 1882.
The "Wells Fargo Coach Gun" (for the life of me I cannot find an exact model name) would be the cartridge version of the double barreled blunderbuss, and would predate pump action shotguns for a while.
Colt Navy 1851 could be nice, still cap&ball but 6 shot, forged the west :)
I am not sure if anyone encounter this but, seems like the Ramrod(Pistol) of Iron doesn't exist in Smithing so you can't smith a Ramrod(Pistol) made of Iron even on handbook it leaves it blank resulting in no means crafting a full wheellock pistol with iron barrel, iron wheellock and iron ramrod, I also check 0.0.4 and 0.0.3 both in game and their json says nothing about crafting of the Ramrod(pistol) made of Iron so curious about if others see it too?
The Springfield 1873 Trapdoor would be a great gun for the cartridge stage.
The would be a great addition to bridge the gap between rifled muskets and cartridge-fed rifles
It's one of the easier ones to code since there isn't a need to develop a whole new loading system - the Hall loads the same as a musket, just from the breech instead of the muzzle
A double Barreled Wheellock would be wonderful, so instead of the Bossi Rifle you would had a double barreled Wheellock (there were some made Historically speaking)
A breechloading Wheellock (so you can premake Iron casings where you have to preload them and be able to shoot faster with them. And of course would the casings be reusable)
The volley gun but with the option to shoot one shot after the other.
A Matchlock Revolving Gun. ( maybe with the chance of chainfiring if you shoot too fast)
the Colt Army Revolver (as an Endgame weapon)
Just my couple of suggestions i personally would concentrate on the wheellock weapons because of the already existing wheellocks that are in the game.
The Harston conversion would be a bit OP. But maybe you can only get the conversion through a blueprint that to get you need to defeat a boss or trade for? (or the conversion is just really expensive to make?)
Lovely,you have no idea how much this was bugging me...anyway since you taking suggestions could something like the japanese nigiri teppo (a ninja mercury ignited hand gun to make use of cinnabar!) or silly like the ozutsu matchlocks handcannons be on the table?
Martini Henry would be amazing, adding the Harston conversion feels maybe too OP tho? unless you have to smith every single cartridge for it
I would like to suggest a personal favorite of mine the Martini Henry rifle.
Also if possible the Harston Martini-Henry magazine conversion thing. (I am uncertain on what to call it)

Does this only work for the combat overhaul version? Or will it also work for the Bullseye version?
You could possibly add early rolling block rifles such as the remington rolling block that could pack a punch while being crazy expensive to make -- brass cartridges, pre measured loads you have to put in them, percussion caps for them and also it being made out of steel
Well it may be a wild and mostly more fun gun:
I like to suggest the Nockgun, which is a 7 barrels flintlock.
It's designed to fire together in one go (though mostly it never did because of unreliability), but hey, if you want to make a 7 shots carbine...
What about Old West weapons like the ones in Red Dead Redemption? They might be more interesting than automatic weapons. 🤠

I appreicate this mod and I look forward to any other pre ww1 hell even barely civil war guns. My friend and I on our server decided the best place for guns to not go past in terms of age is roughly around the double barrel, cap and ball revolvers and similar "primitive" western/pre-civil war guns. I give you props for any you add but I certainely look forward to things like those I mentioned, having guns that use paper cartridges or shells like for a double barrel shotgun or single barrel shotgun. what about a firearm with actual rifling like the 1796 jagerstutzen? would require a hammer to actually reload the thing but it'd be a good hunting weapon for lategame if you like catching big game (bears, Fauna of the Stone Age animals, ect)
Dreyse Needle Gun? kinda a primitive single shot bolt action rifle that uses paper cartridges. Irl it had less range than other muskets but a higer rate of fire and the needle suffered from high corrosion from having to punch through most of the cartridge to set off the percussion cap.
Follow up on the paper cartridges:
Instead of a whole new animation, the existing animation could be cut so that you only put one thing down the barrel (the cartridge) and then you still use your powder flask to prime the pan. Wouldn't be as fast of a reload but would shave a little time. That said I am not an animator, modder, or coder in any sense so I cannot comprehend how complex any changes are, so I appreciate your efforts immensely!

Verena_Lynn New versions of the Firearms mod do not need Combat Overhaul nor Bullseye, only Overhaul Lib
So uh, does this necessarily need the full deal including Combat Overhaul, or is it fine with just the Bullseye-Firearms version?
How about prepackaged paper cartridges? Could be an inventory space saving method for ammo that is faster to reload. Historically, we eventually started pre-measuring our powder charges, pouring them into paper rolls, adding wad or just tying the paper, then adding the ball on top. There are plenty of places explaining the concept more and in greater detail, just search up "making paper cartridges" on Youtube or the internet in general.
Could potentially halve reload times? The cartridges could require different amounts of powder and ammo depending on what firearm they are being made for. May require a new animation because of ripping the pair to pour powder into the pan? Could also make the cartridges not waterproof at first, but can combine an amount of them with fat in a cooking pot to seal them.
The gist of the idea is ammo that is expensive to craft but saves you space and time.

AcidNight There's a game setting called "Class exclusive recipes" that you can disable if you don't want class exclusive recipes, also the iron wheellock has the same damage tier as the steel wheellock (I didn't feel like making separate files just for 2 different damage tiers) Also this is a very simple content mod so it can be easily modified to whatever you want with just a simple text editor.
hello, I see that for the piece with the line you used the model (steel in any case) with the parchment, at least without the line we can craft it,
I just find it a shame not to have an increase in damage between bronze and iron or if it also uses the parchment ok ^^
The very first 8 cylinder flintlock revolver was believed to be produced as early as 1597, it was forged by one Hans Stopler. Each cylinder had its own touch holes. The funny thing about this revolver though, it is somewhat larger than it looks in most pictures.
Next up would be the Kalthoff Repeaters from the 1630s, which could hold anywhere from 5-30 shots, its an incredible design. The kalthoff design uses gears and a lever action to automatically do all the flintlock rifle actions, loading the shot and powder, the primer charge, and ram rodding the shot.
I'd like to mention though that these first two designs were very fragile, as they were very complex.
Theres also the collier flintlock revolving rifles and revolvers (though i know theyre already mentioned in description), honestly just a more reliable and compact design of the 1597 flintlock revolver, but those were made in around the 1810s.
I think all of these would be great candidates! You can find info on all of these, except for the 1597 revolver i think, from Forgotten Weapons and other sources on the internet!
Ricecism Well... a revolver would work too. There was actually one flintlock revolver, which actually made Colt himself create the Colt Paterson, which was one of the earliest modern revolvers.
Edit: Didn't realize flintlock revolvers were already planned before writing this comment. Still a proper single-action or double-action revolver would be nice.

Only compatible with the full version, as the full version has recipes for steel barrels, steel ramrod which I didn't bother patching in after seeing Maltiez adding the steel flintlock pistol. I could probably figure something out to make it work with the other versions.

The steel wheellock pistol does tier 5 damage to match the steel flintlock, otherwise no other changes

Are you talking about the trait needed to craft the wheel-lock? Then yes it's still there, shouldn't be hard to remove though. As for revolvers, not sure how that would be implemented, still not completely sure how the Firearms mod works
hello, is there still the restriction for the manufacture of the central part of the pistol? it's really a shame to have done that and he doesn't seem to want to change it like the musket or the other or at least there are plans,
a person on this page even asked him if it's possible to make one of the first 6-shot revolvers which is in the same idea but with a more expensive craft, but hey, if just the craft he doesn't want to do anything x), I should
see if I know how to change it but when I do it the mods don't work anymore xD
