Recommended download (for Vintage Story 1.20.4 and 1.20.12):
bcaxeplankstick-v1.0.0.zip
1-click install
I found myself needing sticks. These can be gotten lots of ways, but for some reason they cannot be crafted. This allows that. You do need to have a board, which in turn means you have a saw, which in turn means you would need some copper, so this shouldn't impact the early game.
For most people this mod shouldn't be needed, I don't tend to cut down many trees and the bushes near me had been harvested. This seemed like a fair trade off.

I have to admit I am unsure at this point, I have chosen "Both" to somehow hedge my bets!
I think it actually is a server side mod since it adds a recipe. Assets like recipes get loaded by the server and sync'd to the client when they load; I don't think the client loads recipes at all. Singleplayer mode works by starting a server in a separate thread, so server mods work the same when you install them locally and play Singleplayer.
I notice this has been flagged as out of date (originally written for 1.20.4). As it is, it's nothing more than an 8 line JSON config file, it should still work, but I will update the mod info description to reflect the new game version.

It's definitely client side, you install it to your local machine.
Would it work on a server? I have no idea. I have never player on a server, let alone write mods for them.
I don't think this is client side.
