I want to add various elements that I think are missing from the vanilla version, as well as additional recipes for things that cannot be crafted.

 

 

Recently added:

  • Coal pit doors. The door must be placed so that there is no free space behind it.
  • Small door of the coal pit firebox. The door must be placed so that there is no free space behind it.
  • Tile blocks of wood, copper, and slate.
  • Decorative plank beams.
  • Flat roofs of turf, thatch, and old thatch.
  • Recipes for creative ridge beams and roof beams.

 

  • Shepherd fences for large animals, also diagonal at 45°.
    The fences are created according to the diagrams in the image.
    The diagonal variants are interchangeable with the straight ones.
    The straight gates are placed in the same way as in the vanilla version.
    The diagonal gates are separate on the right and left sides.
    You can tie the animals with a rope.

    (Placing the diagonal elements can be a bit tricky at first, but after a while you should be able to handle them.)

    Warning! The children of chickens, rabbits, foxes, raccoons can get under the fence.

  • Flat and steep roofs, matching the vanilla roofs made of wood, bamboo, slate, copper and clay.

  • Very old roof tiles, matching the color of the old boards.

 

 

In my deep plans I have:

  • Slanted fences made of stones
  • Side halves of roofs (right and left)
  • Flat roofs made of straw, and grass covering

and a few others...

Got my hands on some slate for roofing and tried making them into the more flat variants but the ingame crafting recipie overrides it to turn it into rocks when puting them in corners. Any fix for this problem?

I optimized the amount of textures in the models. It will be included in the next update. I managed to save about 10%. Thanks for reporting, it contributed to better performance of the modification.

Download the mod's .zip file, extract it into your desktop, go to "assets/extendedcreation/lang". In it you'll see an "en.json" file. Copy it (leave the copy in the same folder), rename the copy "es.json", them open "es.json". Replace all the plain english stuff after the : with spanish.

For example:

block-slantedroofridge-veryaged-*: "Very aged roof ridge"

Becomes:

block-slantedroofridge-veryaged-*: "Cumbrera de tejado muy envejecida"


Then you go back to your desktop, zip the whole thing again, open Vintage Story, open Mods page, click on "Open Mods Folder", drag the zip you created into the Mods folder, go back to Vintage Story, click "reload mods".

Neti, you're probably right, I did not realise what was the actual use of your mod, it's an absolute must have: I thought its features were vanilla! I hesitated between yours and Vanilla variants, I guess it is the last one that makes my client lag so much. Thanks you so much for the quick answer, I love your work :)

I don't know what mod it is. If there is one, I'd love to know. My modification may take up a bit more memory while the world is loading, but it doesn't add any blocks to the world itself. It doesn't affect world generation. Even the textures are used from the game directory, so I don't think that's the reason. Look how small the file is.
For me the difference with and without the mod is only 200MB of memory. Maybe you have other modifications that affect this.

Hello there!

I am encountering a little issue which according to some posts I have seen but couldn't get my hands on again was related to the sheer amount of new items your mod is adding to the game. I basically get some RAM use spikes resulting in lags I did not experience before. If I remember well, one of the posts stated there was a mod complementary to yours that would fix that issue by removing the content and replacing in some other way that wouldn't cause any RAM use spikes.

Would you happen to know which one, please? I can remember for the life of me what was the name of the said mod or which post on Reddit mentioned it.

Neti No errors the crafting grid recipes are just the same (placing roof block into the grid), and since the mod that fixed this issue isn't currently working there's really no workaround other than contacting mod devs or disabling the mod/feature.

It appears that this mod has crafting compatibility conflicts with One Roof. I like a bunch of what you have going on here. But for the time being, I am gonna need to disable the crafting of your roof blocks for my own personal world because of the conflicts here.

There is a button with a portrait of mountains next to an arrow pointing leftwards on top of the description bar. You can place images on the description that way. And people use imgur for image storage in mobile and DeviantArt for pc use. Try that those.

I don't understand exactly what you mean. As for gates being able to open in both directions, I don't know how to program it yet. Currently, it works according to the game's base.

Two things: first, this mod is awesome. I'm loving the new roof additions. Second, I have a bunch of missing textures, I haven't tried placing them in world, but they're missing on the guide, like the fence spans. Also, I play with the map colors on, and the custom pieces are appearing white on the map.

I've already considered some of them and have plans for them.

For now, let's let what comes of them be a surprise ;)

Some of them already exist in other mods and I have no idea how to do it better at the moment

Some other suggestions, though I don't know if any of these are within the scope of the mod.

  • larger trapdoors, or horizontal versions of the vanilla doors and gates
  • Iron fence variants
  • Iron door variants (1x3 2x2 3x4 etc)
  • Modular carpets/rugs
  • Lightly aged planks (same color/texture as the debarked aged log)
  • More ornate glass windows
  • more affordable metal blocks 
  • Wood varnishes which can alter the texture of planks and debarked logs. Something like making them slightly lighter or darker, more or less saturated

@Neti absolutely, also just to add, I temp removed your mod from my server because those fence pieces were causing a lot of errors, but I will definetly add it back whenever this gets an update, as for the sod/turf roof I think flat would be defintely cool, but I especially would love like lower angled pieces, the only ones that fit the bill in vanilla like to float or be all disconnected, to have what you made for the others for sod would go great for my cabin lol. Anyways keep up the great work

I was thinking about making flat versions of the roofs with turf and thatch, but for now I want to finish the fences.

any block from your mod involving fences or fence gates are appearing as question mark blocks. Outside of that I love your mod, and was wondering if you would make varients for the sod roof as well, I'm trying to recreate the "Sod House" painting in the game and my cabin looks a bit too tall with the current vanilla choices

@Ikaahi I don't know, I didn't compare. These roofs match the shape of those in vanilla. I simply missed this type of solution in vanilla wooden roofs.
