Tired of being ganked by a random bear of wolf running out of the bushes? Still want Drifters and other monsters to be a challenge?

This mod makes all vanilla animals passive unless provoked, without affecting any of the purely hostile mobs like with the base games creatureHostility config option. This also means your low-gen farm animals will no longer attack you as you pass by.

Please note that as this mod accomplishes this via JSON patching, any modded animals are unlikely to be added, as this mod is primarily for personal use. I encourage you to check the patch file for an idea of how I did it and try patching them yourself.

This works great with 1.20.10!

PurplePi Combat Overhaul issue :(

Awesome mod though. I like it like it is in Terrafirmacraft where above ground is relatively safe but the underground has a lot of fellows. Vintage Story just has the added bonus of having resources and progression that can only be attained through caving. Thanks.

Finnicus Yeah, I'd be baffled if this mod somehow caused that, hope you manage to pinpoint the true culprit

Playing this mod in 1.20.7 makes animals invulnerable to mod crossbow fire.

edit: pure slander, I think it is a different mismatch

Thank you for clarifying!

I wasn't sure if it was an error on my end or not

💬 PurplePi , Mar 25th at 9:51 AM

EKB133 yeah, it only works on Aggressive. Passive (and turning hostility completely off) acts as a complete override on hostility on a code level. There's nothing I can do about that.

Do I need to keep the creature hostility settings on Aggressive for this to work?

And does it even work on 1.20.6?

I have this installed on my server with the hostility settings set to passive, and the monsters still don't attack or care for the existence of the player, even hitting them doesn't cause them to attack back
