Latest file for
v1.20.4:
riflemod.zip
1-click install
A redux (Fix & rebuild, doens't require old version) of Smoke and Powder
Do not install both mods, this is a standalone version.
While this is a fix to bring it up to 1.20.4 all the credit goes to the original developer for their amazing work, head over to their mod page and show your support and love in the comments!

What do I need to edit to modify the projectile speed? For a firearm the projectiles seem to be fairly slow, and they also drop faster than I'd like them to. I know blackpowder is crude by modern standards and creates significantly lower pressures than modern smokeless powder, but still..
Unsure what the issue is, but i couldn't craft the breech-loading musket (iron) despite trying out every possible recipe arrangement showed in the handbook.
Hey boss! Thank you for the redux, obliterating little woodland critters has never been easier!
Now this isnt an actual issue at all and can be ignore if prefered, but could you add a difference in naming of the .zip between the different versions?
Like riflemod_v1.1.1.zip then v1.1.2.zip and such?
I'm getting these warnings:
8.3.2025 06:38:25 [Client Warning] Texture asset 'game:textures/block/leather.png' not found (defined in Item riflemod:riflelock-iron).
8.3.2025 06:38:25 [Client Warning] Texture asset 'game:textures/block/leather.png' not found (defined in Shape code riflemod:item/tool/rifle01unloaded).
It looks like the leather texture is moved to textures\block\leather\ with many different variants and is causing this issue.
Destroyer_V0 I've fixed that issue in this latest version!
Catasteroid I'll look into some of those changes! Thanks for the heads up, ofc if you're interested in updating and continuing maintaining please let me know and I'll step back :D
I might make some changes in the near future if you don't take back over!
Was it intentional that you could use both a rough and finished pistol frame to make a completed pistol? It means you can skip a step in crafting pistols ATM. *Granted pistols also kinda suck in this mod, but such is life.
You can not make bullet molds and buckshot molds with red clay only blue and fire clay
THANK YOU, GOD FUCK COMBAT OVERHAUL. PRAISE JESUS
wwwDayDream Also a change I was considering making: Increasing the damage of buckshot by maybe 1-1.25 and adding an item description mentioning they don't inherit the entire damage value of the weapon unlike ball cartridges, and that they're for making sure you hit a target that might be difficult to hit with a precise shot
I'm happy for you to continue maintaining this mod if you're willing
wwwDayDream Sorry, worked a 12-hour shift last night so only now getting around to testing. Looks like completely deleting the old mod fixed the issue. I'm not sure why the game was still trying to load a mod that was supposed to be disabled in the mod settings menu, but yes removing the old mod entirely does seem to fix the problem. Thank you!
Any update Malikyte
wwwDayDream I disabled the old mod in the mod settings so it shouldn't have still been loading it. Weird. I'll try completely erasing the old mod and see if that helps, thanks.
oh you are a hero for this!
This is exactly what I was looking for - a firearms mod without needing to install Combat Overhaul. Thank you so much!
I believe you have both mods installed and that's why you're getting that error. This fixes that specific error (among many others).
Please make sure you only have this mod installed and not the original (as they have different ModIDs, they will load at the same time and conflict if you have both).
Thank you so much for doing this.
Would it be too hard to change the behavior to pre-load on right-click so you can fire later instead of always having to reload-then-immediately-fire like a bow?
