There is a mod called Easy Acorns for balancing the number of acorns.
I'm not sure if the mod works properly. I couldn't get past creating dry acorns, and I don't understand how to remove their shells (I followed the instructions). This may be due to the fact that the mod generates a number of non-critical errors when loading. In addition, Expanded Foods has integration with this mod, but when loading, a bunch of errors occur and, as I understand it, the integration no longer works because of this.

The mod is good, I would like to see it updated.

any chance of the 1.21 update? the origional mod hasnt been updated in 9 months, and seems to function normally as far as i can tell with very few acorns, except the acorn drop rate is the same as vanilla oak seeds

Handful of acorns IS an Expanded Foods item, too. It should be appearing.

This mod has never had a "handful of acorns" item as far as I have seen. There's certainly nothing in the code about it, could you be thinking of a Wildcraft item?

Is the mod missing the 'handful of acorns' item? I can't seme to find it without the old version
Was trying to make fruit bars for Expanded food but they don't seem to be there and no other version of acorns work (Meal, dried, etc)

Huh, really? I loaded this into 1.20 and none of the acorn fruit bread or muffins showed up. Maybe it's user error.

I promise, it works with EF. I've been using it for many hours making bread and pies, including fruit breads. 😂

Yeah, I'm not a fan of the changed ID either... I would have left the modID alone, except it wouldn't let me upload it! "Duplicate modID" error.

Ye olde Acorns mod finally broke, huh? Thanks for fixing it.

EDIT: Uh oh, the modID is different. Not a fan of that. 😱 I think this won't work with Expanded Foods until the modID is changed from "acorns120" to "acorns".

The acorn flour to other flour ratio is 1:1, so 50/50 in your example.

what is the ratio of acorn flour to other flour to make the dough? is it 50/50? 1/4? 1/3? 1/5?

I use ACA/EF as well, so that was one of the things I tested. Works as it used to in 1.18 and 1.19!

Thanks for porting this classic over to 1.20, quick question since I wont be able to test it at the moment: does this work with the mods that had compatibility with the original Acorns, such as Expanded Foods using acorn dough in its recipes?
