This mod is intended solely for use on the Secret Foxfire community server and is not of use to anyone outside the server. It contains a number of tweaks to the game's files, including spawn rates, item drops, recipes, etc., as well as a few custom items which I have modded in specifically to work in tandem with these tweaks and our other mods and keep the server gameplay balanced.

It is not recommended to download this mod if you are not a player on the Secret Foxfire server as it is designed to work specifically with the collection of mods and playstyle on that server, as it overhauls several mechanics and would cause the game to become unbalanced without those other mods.

The mod is .json only and does not contain any code.

Tweaks and fixes for the new leaves and bark breads!

  • Leaf drops nerfed considerably. Your inventory should no longer be perpetually full of leaves. This may still need some balancing so your feedback is welcome.
  • Leaves should no longer cause damage when cooked in soup.
  • Bark dough recipes now correctly consume the water from the container.
  • Fixed the name of the larch needles. I don't know why it said birch needles before. Birch trees do not have needles. They are larch needles. Larch needles!
2.0.8 xsft 7 Dec 20th 2025 at 2:16 PM xsft208.zip 1-click install
  • New survival foods added to birch, larch, maple, oak, and pine trees:
    • Leaves/needles will drop from broken leaves and branchy leaves. They can be eaten raw but will do a small amount of damage to represent how hard they are to digest. They can also be cooked into soups as vegetable ingredients. (Images are still "developer art" for now. I couldn't figure out how to make the meal ingredient text look correct, so for now the leaves will not show up properly in the meal name.)
    • Soaked In Dappled Groves bark from the above trees can be ground into bark flour and baked into various low-nutrition breads and pie crusts. (Currently using standard bread models, but I plan to replace these with their own flatbread models in the future.)
2.0.7 xsft 21 Nov 13th 2025 at 3:16 PM xsft207.zip 1-click install
  • Fixed modded traders, so they should spawn now (in newly-generated chunks only).
  • Adjusted shellfish growth rates to match our extended calendar, so they will take about 90 days to regrow. (I had to do math for this one, folks, so please be kind. The OP nature of the shellfish was due to the fact that they were synced with the default calendar of 9-day months. They will be considerably less ridiculously productive now!)
2.0.6 xsft 18 Nov 7th 2025 at 3:51 PM xsft206.zip 1-click install
  • Reduced meat drop rates for large farm animals
  • Added other clean water types from Hydrate or Diedrate to recipe for soaked unstable shroom
2.0.5 xsft 18 Nov 1st 2025 at 9:08 PM xsft205.zip 1-click install
  • Updated dependencies.
  • Added recipe for aged logs.
2.0.4 xsft 28 Oct 17th 2025 at 4:07 PM xsft204.zip 1-click install

Recipe Tweaks:

-Unstable shroom now only requires water to soak instead of limewater.

-Unstable slop requirement for temporal gear reduced from 50 to 20.

-Slow-burning wood now soaks 32 logs per unstable slop instead of 16.

Other Tweaks:

-Soaked unstable shroom now takes 5 days to decay instead of 1 to reduce the risk of a player missing it after the long soak time.

-Runtime mob spawns reduced.

2.0.3 xsft 26 Oct 14th 2025 at 11:24 AM xsft203.zip 1-click install

New Item: Slow-burning wood

-Soak firewood in unstable slop for 24 hours to get slow-burning wood

-These logs will burn for 6 minutes each, at a temperature of 50 degrees

-They are not hot enough to cook with, but can be used for aesthetic fires and to keep warm in winter

Fixes:

-Compote meals now have a readable name, though the ingredients will not be listed because fixing that would be an insane amount of work. (Special thanks to SPUD for their help on this!)

-Fruit leather name has been fixed

-Fruit leather stacks should no longer be considered a solid surface

2.0.2 xsft 25 Oct 13th 2025 at 2:19 PM xsft202.zip 1-click install

Fruity Foods!

I have added two new foods you can make with fruit!

-Fruit Leather: Press some fruit between two wooden boards and hammer it flat to make raw fruit leather. (Grid recipe.) Bake that in an oven to make dried fruit leather. Considerably lower saturation than the raw fruit, but lasts for ages, and can be stacked in a pile on the ground.

-Compote: A simple meal made with 2-4 fruit of any kind in a cooking pot. Extra nutrition from your fruit, but doesn't last any longer than any other meal (unlike jam, which requires honey but lasts for a long time).

--Note 1: The meal names are completely broken right now. I spent hours trying to get it working, longer than I spent on anything else in this update, but nothing worked. Apparently, fixing it might take several more hours of research and typing out possible ingredients one by one (for every single fruit in both vanilla and all the mods), so I'm... not going to do that, at least for now. Possibly later, if I decide to polish it up and release it to the world.

--Note 2: I STRONGLY RECOMMEND that you DO NOT USE A WILDCRAFT FRUIT AS YOUR PRIMARY INGREDIENT. The meal textures for that mod are broken right now, I can't figure out how to fix them myself, and it's unknown when the mod dev will update that mod. To try to get this done in a timely manner, I simply reused the jam model for the compote, which means only the primary ingredient will show. If you use a Wildcraft ingredient for your primary ingredient, the whole meal will be invisible as well as having a broken name! I know, I know, it's a mess, but it's release it like this for now or not have compote at all, and I figure folks would prefer to have it as an option at least.

When it's about tweaks mods, giving a general idea of what the tweaks are is appreciated you don't need to describe them in full. Just a general idea is fine, (i.e this mod tweaks the graphics, sounds, item descriptions e.t.c) it's also fine to omit features as long as the main ones are listed. And regarding if it's for a server or not, all public mods regardless if it's for the everyday user or for a specific server abide by the same rules. And the rules were made and started to take effect at the start of the year, so you can check out the Terms of Use if you're unfamiliar with them.
But with all that said, thank you for tending to the request. Just a general idea is fine, you don't need to write a whole paragraph if you don't want to.

Michaloid I don't quite understand. The function of the mod is to make various tweaks to the game for my community server, as the description says. The tweaks are not of use to anyone outside of my server. Mostly it's adjustments to various values in the game files (too many of them to list, mainly minor changes to things like spawn chances, item drops, patches to recipes, etc.), as well as a few custom items and recipes I've made for my players, some of which are intended to be secrets for them to discover as the server progresses. There is no code in the mod, it is pure json, so there's no risk of it causing any harm. How much detail do I need to list in the mod description? I'll try adding more info but I'm not sure what more there is to say. I've been using a mod like this to get my tweaks to my players for years and it's never been an issue, so I'm a little confused.

Please state the function of the mod.
