Latest release (for Vintage Story 1.22.3, potentially outdated):
SawbladeMould_1.1.1.zip 1-click install
Adds a saw blade mould to the game, craftable from all three clay types (red, fire, blue) with matching mould textures (see version note below) in line with base-game mould behaviour. Recipe takes 100 units of metal like other tool moulds and gives one saw blade when hardened.
This mod significantly changes game progression. Consider carefully before using it solo, or adding it to a multiplayer server.
Warning for new players (contains progression spoilers)
Crafting the first saw blade is a major step in the crafting mechanics in Vintage Story. This mod shortcuts the process, making progress much, much easier. I do not recommend this mod for first time players. Experienced players will understand how powerful this mod is and can use their own judgement. If new players want to know why, read the spoiler, but it is a spoiler:
Versions for 1.21 and 1.22:
Clay and ceramics changed a little bit between 1.21 and 1.22, and I've had to rework my three mould mods. Many thanks to Spike88 for helping me realise this without playing 1.22! As a result of this rework, the most recent versions of these mods will only work with 1.22 and beyond. Updating the 1.21-compatible version will likely cause ghost items. The older versions will also work with 1.22, but with 1.21-style features (no coloured ceramics from a beehive kiln; no earthy orange texture from a pit kiln). Here's how to determine which version to use:
- You have a 1.22.n server and haven't had this mod on it yet: Use the latest version marked 1.22 only.
- You have a 1.20/1.21.n server and haven't had this mod on it yet: Use the latest version marked 1.21-compatible. Do not use the most recent release.
- You have a 1.22 server you've updated from 1.20/1.21 and you were using this mod under 1.20/1.21: Use the latest version marked 1.21. Do not update to the most recent release unless you're sure you can first destroy all moulds created under the old version of the mod.

Update for changed clay and ceramics behaviours under 1.22. Added "earthy orange" variant for pit kilns for red clay. Added beehive kiln ceramic variants in line with base game moulds. Do not update to this version! You must start fresh. See note in mod description!

Initial release. Note the version info in the mod description. This version gives 1.21-style functionality, but will work under 1.22 if you need to update your server. Do not update from this version! You must start fresh with later versions.

to be honest, this isn't cheating.
This is just a way to make VS closer to TFC :)
I'm perfectly fine with skipping progression, thanks man!
Blazha Totally agree. If you've been through the early game many times, it's a nice-to-have to make things progress a little more quickly. Once you have an anvil, it's a mould like any other mould. You're exactly the kind of player I made this for.
I agree with skipping progression, but I have struggled enough with inventory management and early game storage so I will use this mod 100% :)
