This mod is simply a band-aid fix for a small group to play with the class mod and Combat Overhaul installed.
I don't have real experience in creating patch files and this seems like a decent band-aid fix for now unless someone else discovers or comments a more efficent way to get combat overhaul to properly load with the mod without overwriting the first few classes with their vanilla traits instead.
The major diffrences from normal Remenants and this one is
1. mod config "dependensies" now contains combat overhaul as a dependency
2. Since the compatability seems to work incorrectly, I've temporerally set all the classes use the combat overhaul patch by brute force (Edited the class traits at the core to force equip the traits without utilizing the flimsy "rewrite" patch currently exsisting
If anyone is curious about my research, seems like the issue stems from load order of mods which ends up loading either mod before other which causes combat overhaul to patch at incorrect time, overwriting remenant's first few classes with vanilla combat overhaul ones.

Did the classes have the wrong traits set? I didnt even realise I thought I checked what the patch was supposed to apply
Ah. Use either not both. Had to come back to realise, as usual, I was the problem.
I'm very confused what you mean by the second point in the description. Can you elaborate?
