Latest file for v1.20.3:
RealisticWetness 0.0.3.zip 1-click install

THIS MOD WAS MADE FOR A FRIEND SERVER, SO IT ISN'T AS POLISHED AS I'D LIKE FOR A PUBLIC MOD QUITE YET!

I have marked the mod as 1.20.3 but I don't see why it wouldn't work on the newer versions. If someone wants to confirm I'd be thankful.

What this mod does:

  • Body temperature can drop faster than in vanilla given the ambient temperature is cold enough. In vanilla body temperature change is clamped to a low value, so even if you're naked in -20C, you won't lose body heat faster than you would in -5C.
  • Additionally, being wet is a lot more punishing in colder temperatures and not too punishing (vanilla values) in warm temperatures.
  • Reduced the amount of time passing to start taking freezing damage from 3h to 1h.

The funcionality has been added via harmony transpiler, so the mod should be compatible with most mods. Do let me know if you run into any problems.

Mackeroni I appreciate letting me know! I did notice that as well and I'm pretty sure the problem lies in that the speed at which wetness is applied depends on how heavy the rain or snowfall is. With the most recent changes the wetness gets applied so slowly most of the time, that the natural drying rate outpaces it (so it stays at 0). If it's really pouring hard you'll still get wet but yeah it's a bit undertuned right now. I'm hoping to release a config update here soon so y'all can play with the values yourself and so that I can crank up the default values to be a bit more mean again.

Hmm, not sure if the latest change works as intended. It's supposed to apply wetness slower in rain, but it doesn't actually seem to apply it at all for me. I'm using the Status HUD mod and it's not displaying any wetness % at all. I'll change to the old version for now myself, obviously, but just wanted to tell you.

SoggySome Thank you! Having played with it for a few days now, I can at least say that there don't seem to be any major bugs. Whether or not the balance is good remains to be seen. If you or anyone else playing with the mod could tell me about your experience, that would be appreciated!
