Latest release (for Vintage Story 1.22.2, potentially outdated):
racoonplayermodel_0.1.6.zip  1-click install

A Player Model Library addon that adds a raccoon player race.

REQUIRES Player Model Lib!!!

Currently included:

  • The base model
  • Some animations
  • 5 fur patterns (7 colours variants)
  • Additional customisation options (tails, emotions, eyes, eye colour)
  • Increased nutrition gain from fruits (should be working now).
  • Model traits to differentiate the model a bit (for additional traits, consider Broken_Lava's trait addon).

Currently planned:

  • A custom trait with custom code (this is the hard part)

Compatibility

The model is similar in proportions to the default seraph, so most mods that add animations should work and look close enough. Otherwise, should be compatible with any mod.

Tested with Combat Overhaul, Combat Overhaul: Armoury, Firearms (some animation and model issues), Crossbows (some animation issues).

Mods that add helmets and clothing to the face or head will not be compatible unless they are patched. Unpatched, the nose of the raccoon model will poke out of the front of any helmets or masks.

Known Issues

  • The copper plate helmet looks silly.
  • Some clothes don't properly fit the model due to changes in part overlaps.
  • Upon loading into a game, the character model may have no textures and be completely black. Changing any equiped clothes should fix this as this will refresh the textures. (This may be fixed with the new Player Model Lib versions)

Please do report any bugs or issues you come across!

0.1.6 raccoonplayermodeliiqh 2429 May 29th at 3:36 PM racoonplayermodel_0.1.6.zip 1-click install

Updated Player Model Library requiment to version 1.19.3

Added

  • Added 4 traits to the base model, some based on real raccoon ecology and some based on my primary usage of raccoons in vintage story.
  • New icons for the raccoon categories.

Fixed

  • The fruit nutrition boost to the player model should now (hopefully) work. It was supposed to be added to a trait not to the model config (I think).
  • Added new animations from 1.22 that were missing

Changes

  • Readded the commoner class to be picked from until I actually get my custom trait to work

Known issues

  • The trait that increases warmth does not appear to work when mods that affect temperature are added. It may not even work when these mods are absent (please do report in the comments if this is the case since this will be a base player model lib problem).
0.1.5 raccoonplayermodeliiqh 1789 Apr 24th at 3:33 PM racoonplayermodel_0.1.5.zip 1-click install

[Updated Playermodel Library requirement to version 1.15.1]

Patch for the new clothes added in 1.22.0.

  • Multiple masks and hats have been modelled to better fit the player model.
  • Updated to be compatible with 1.22.0 (no more errors should show in your loading logs. The previous version was technically playable, but one of the patches broke in the 1.22.0 update. This has now been fixed).

Known Issues

  • Upon loading into a game, the character model may have no textures and be completely black. Changing any equiped clothes should fix this as this will refresh the textures.

  • Face customistion (Eyebrow and mouth options)
  • Patching to reduce clipping of the face fluff on many hats, masks, and helmets (to maintain maximum compatibility, some items will still have clipping)

Changes:

  • Lapis eye colour has been changed. It is now my favourite colour (no I won't be changing the other colours to match).

  • Numerous texture fixes
    • Edits for consistency accross classic pattern

Hello there InsrtInspQotsHer! I tried testing out the various different animations with the emotes (https://mods.vintagestory.at/emotes) mod and found that some of the various options for lying down sort of make you 'sink' into the floor. Fortunetly the rubbing-hands-together option seems to work fine!

Do you know if you plan a compatability patch?

Oweyan, Sep 21st at 3:36 AM

is it possible to remove the traits with configs?

FlintBackflip This model excludes the commoner class from the list of classes that raccoon players can choose, but it shouldn't remove it from other player models. The original intent was that I was going to make a trait that the raccoon player would have by default as part of the model and that this trait would also be on the commoner class (so non-raccoons could also try it). To stop the trait being duplicated on Raccoons when it was finished, I removed commoner from the Raccoons. This trait mod is still WIP, but I'm not too sure if I'll even manage to finish it, since I'm not that good at coding.

Does this remove the commoner's class or is it one of my other mods? T_T

A good idea, I'll put it under consideration for until I've finished the other planned features

Sanctus, Feb 14th at 9:15 PM

A color pattern that matches spiffo from Project Zomboid would be perfect.
