Adds recipes so you can coat those lowly, plain cobble walls (or almost any surface) with medieval man's alternative to wallpaper: Plaster washes! You can also build walls ground-up from new plaster blocks.

New blocks:

  • Plaster wash (Plain) - A new wallpaper-like variant of the regular "Plaster (Plain)" block.
  • Plaster whitewash/Yellow plaster wash/Yellow-white plaster wash - Wallpaper-like wall coatings in several variants. (Not actually new blocks - just made visible and craftable in survival with this mod!)
  • Plaster blocks - Full-block variants of the above washes. Great for chiseling and building.
  • "(Opaque)" variants of the above plaster washes - For use side-by-side with the new full plaster blocks as a work-around to some lighting issues the other washes have.

New recipes (Search for "plaster" in the handbook):

  • Plaster wash (Plain) - Like the normal plaster, but with ingredients put horizontally.
  • Plaster whitewash - Like above, but with the ingredients flipped.
  • Yellow plaster wash - Like above, but with yellow/golden brown/orange daub instead of sand.
  • Yellow-white plaster wash - Like above, but with the places of daub and lime swapped around.
  • Decorated variants of white, yellow and yellow white wash - Requires crushed lapis lazuli.
  • Damaged variants of white wash - Requires hammer and/or knife.
  • Plaster blocks - Like above, but ingredients oriented vertically.

This mod goes very well together with my other mod Daub wash recipes.

This mod does not include any new textures, and I do not plan on making any new ones myself at this time.

I hope you'll enjoy my first attempt at a mod. Now get plasterin'!

Annastasija Both! The washes are just like wallpaper - but it also adds matching full blocks. I've changed the description so it's hopefully a bit clearer. :)

Does this work like wallpaper or something  or is ti full blocks?

I've just released another, similar mod for daub washes! Check it out: Daub wash recipes

Kaschperle Thanks for letting me know! Should be working now.

Actually mudbricks are already a thing in the base game, though I do like the idea of adobe. Perhaps earthern bricks in different colors? I also think simple earthern plaster that you can apply to blocks would be a nice addition too, as is done to real life mudbrick and adobe.

LadyEdain Glad to hear it's doing it's job! :D

I used this last night in my underground kitchen and it looks SO much better than plain rock walls. Gives it a real medieval feel.

Wood paneling would also be awesome. I think a wood ceiling in my white kitchen would look nice, like there's a floor above it.

CoronoofNtikirra Haha, great minds think alike!

I like the adobe and bamboo wattle ideas. The last one would go well with the wood paneling I was thinking of...

I'll make sure to ping you if I get around to doing anything like that. I would most likely need some help with the texture-work!

@Davee humbly, get out of my head! I was just discussing the idea of expanding daub and making plaster into a wallpaper-esque thing prior to seeing this mod with some friends as my first project in learning modding. xD

Very excited to see it! Also, if I might suggest another thought that came about, adding adobe which is basically "cob bricks" through just shoving cob into ingot molds (to save on adding things which could be "redunand"). HOWEVER, this would probably require new textures. Similarly, I was also thinking of bamboo wattle.

I want to be clear, I'm not demanding you do anything. Your existing effort into modding is more than enough, I don't want to seem like I'm demanding anything. Very excited to see where you go through, and potentially work with you whenever/if I properly go into modding.

Edit: I don't think I know how pings work on this website, also the conceptual name was gonna be Expanded Earthworks if you wanna steal it and put it all together.

CoronoofNtikirra Thank you! I've been thinking of doing a similar one for all the different daubs that were added in 1.20. I'll post a link here if I make one. :)

This mod looks super cool, I love the concept! Hope to see many more aesthetic/cosmetic mods like this from you!
