Pin Recipes is a lightweight quality-of-life mod that lets you pin crafting recipes directly from the handbook to a customizable on-screen HUD overlay.

Keep important recipes visible while crafting without constantly reopening the handbook. Freely move the overlay anywhere on the screen, resize it to fit your UI, and customize its appearance to match your playstyle.

Features:

  • Pin crafting recipes directly from the handbook by clicking the [+] button next to a recipe
  • Draggable on-screen recipe overlay
  • Quick access to overlay customization settings via the [S] button
  • Adjustable window size and opacity
  • Lockable HUD position
  • Remembers the last window position
  • Optional crafting-only visibility
  • Automatically closes recipes after crafting
  • Rename Pin Window
  • Adjustable Window Width
  • Adjustable Window Corner Radius
  • Lightweight and fully client-side
  • Multiplayer support

Shoutout:
This mod was heavily inspired by Sonito's Pin it mod created by Sonito.

If you run into any issues or have suggestions for improvements you'd like to see added, feel free to leave a comment.
Hope you enjoy the mod, and happy playing 🙂

My last session I pinned the recipe of the wooden bed. This session I got on and tried to unpin it but couldn't. Clicking the X didn't do anything. I was still able to pin and unpin other recipes, but not that one. It might help to know that I was also messing with the position settings when I pinned the wooden bed recipe. My only HUD mod is the HUD Clock. Thanks!

Appears to automatically exit when not crafting and there is no command to bring it back up.

Will then bug out, say its Pinned and no window comes back up

The window should never automatically disappear on its own. The issue here is that you're using too many HUD mods at the same time,

the window simply isn't visible because of the HUD layout conflict.

Unfortunately, there isn't much I can do from my side to prevent other HUD mods from repositioning or occupying the same screen space.

Thank you for the mod. I would love a setting to disable automatically closing a recipe after crafting (or locking a pinned recipe) when I want to repeatedly refer to one

Where are the currently pinned recipes saved? I pinned some that I now can't remove for some reason, but I can't figure out what file I'd need to edit/delete to fix it outside the game...

I'd pinned two recipes that needed a trait to craft in my singleplayer world; they stayed pinned into the server I was playing in also (can we get them separate per save maybe?) where I didn't have that trait. Now I don't seem to be able to clear them in either game... I can't really tell why. Unfortunately, I have a fairly extensive modlist so finding issues is haystack-needle fun.

Edit: tried again just now after resetting position and that worked for whatever reason. Maybe I had some invisible UI element over the Xs that wasn't letting me press them where they were? Adding a clear all button in the settings area might also be a good addition though.

Every survival-crafting game needs recipe pinning, thanks for implementing it for 1.22!

Thank you so much! 😊 I completely agree!
Recipe pinning is one of those small features that makes the VS much more enjoyable. I’m really happy I could bring it to 1.22!

First off: this is one of the best mods I've seen yet.  The description mentions the mod is fully client-side and I can confirm it works (very well!) in singleplayer, but if I have it enabled and join my own multiplayer server, it isn't enabled.  Is it possible it needs to be loaded into the server to function?

NoizMakyr, May 24th at 1:26 AM (modified May 24th at 1:30 AM)
@TheKremes: Thank you so much, I really appreciate it! Honestly, I’ve never made server-side mods before, so I’m not sure how it’ll turn out, but I’ll try to implement it.

This mod's implementation is so smooth and intuitive, you deserve the kudos!

I haven't tried installing the mod into the server itself.  I may give that a go and see if it works out of the box.  If not, will report back with any findings or logs :)

EDIT: Holy cow, nothing else needed!  I literally just added it to the Mods folder for the server and it instantly worked :D

Thank you so much for the kind words, I really appreciate it! And I’m glad you managed to get it working.

Just to be safe, I’ve released a new update (1.1.1) that adds support for using the mod in multiplayer even when it’s installed only on the client side, so it’s no longer necessary to have it in the server’s mods folder.

Hope you have a great time playing 😊

God bless you, finally a replacement for Sonito's Pin it.
I certainly have some suggestions for improvement. The X button to close the recipe should be placed next to the recipe that closes. If you have multiple recipes displayed, it is not entirely clear which X will close which recipe.
Then I have one unpleasant thing. Your mod tamper the position of the coordinates that normally appear just below the map. Each recipe shifts the coordinates lower and lower on the screen. The coordinates are always displayed below the last recipe. See the picture: https://ibb.co/vCMSKM02

I wasn’t aware of the coordinate position issue since I don’t have it enabled, so I apologize for that.

I’ll definitely fix the X button as well. Over the next few days I’ll update the mod and push an update. Thanks for the feedback!

Nice, I was missing this with Sonito's not working with 1.22 ♥

Thank you, I’m really glad to hear that! 😊 Sonito’s Pin It mod was a huge inspiration for this mod, so I’m happy I could bring something similar back for 1.22 ♥
