This mod has two reasons for existing:

  1. Unstable soil is fun, in particular I liked how it seemed to make making gravity defying structures and bridges slightly challenging but turns out you can just toss your soil into a crafting grid to turn all of them into perfectly stable blocks.
  2. Packed dirt has a misleading name, you'd think it'd take more blocks of soil to make than it produces but when my inventory filled with soil and I thought to pack and ram it into a smaller space my inventory was still just as full as before.

To be specific the recipe changes are:

6 soil = 3 packed dirt

6 packed dirt = 3 rammed earth

Is this basically the same as Fully Packed Dirt but with a different ratio?

Not a mod that I would personally download but im glad little logic fix mods like this exist!
I only recently (yesterday lol) discovered this whole dirt packing crafting line, and made some really really cool starter houses with it!
I was actually REALLY happy that all the dirt in the dirt packing line was a 1-1 conversion, made me much happier to build my sudo dirt rock structures because It meant I would not have to go dirt farming for 8000 years to use the cool stone looking dirts.
But yeah I had actually never actually went down the dirt packing crafting line because I always presumed it would require me to put in TONS of dirt to get the dirts I wanted because like... It just makes sense, condensing an object usually means your left with LESS of that object but apparently not here.

I would be soooo sad if this was basegame, but it would be understandable >:D

Im just a fiend for having more access to easy earlygame building materials to make nicer looking starter houses, And I dont really feel like digging 2000 peices of dirt with my flint shovels just to use a block that adds variety to my starter houses. If packed dirt actually did what this mod did, I would probably just ignore it alltogether in early game and just deal with having a normal bad looking dirt house while speedrunning my way to woodenplanks, chisel and faster digging tools.

None of this is too diss this mod though, its just a mod that fixes the logical inconsitientcies of the basegame that people can optionally download if they want :D

No issues or anything just wanted to say I like that the mod art is still correct in that 6 does in fact equal 3 factorial(3!). 10/10 no notes
