This mod adds a few more block variants specifically designed to be used as flooring. I noticed that a lot of my builds were starting to feel too repetitive, as I often ended up using the same types of blocks for both floors and walls. So, I created this mod with the goal of adding some more traditional patterns that are typically used for flooring, to the game.

 

It features two brick patterns commonly used in garden paths and cellar floors, four new decorative wood plank patterns, a diagonal variant of the polished rock block, and a redesigned dry stone block that focuses on larger stones and removes the vertical ones (while this one was made with flooring in mind, it actually works pretty well on walls too).

  • Added Russian translation (thanks to dimeymer).

  • Fixed the chevron and diagonal plank variants not dropping the right orientation when broken, causing the different orientation to not stack with the ones in the player inventory.
  • Changed the recipe of the chevron variant, as the old one was conflicting with the wooden roof tip recipe.
  • Added new plank recipes to enable wood flooring blocks to be converted back to individual planks using a saw.

Not sure which textures you refer to - but personally I'd like it to match the Aged Planks block's colors.... if not, at least add some alternate recipe..

Janeator, thank you for the feedback! The issues you mentioned should be fixed now.

Also, I'll consider adding the aged planks. Although, if I do, I think I might use the aged log texture instead of the very aged log that the regular aged planks use. But for now it is just a thought.

A few issues with the mod:

  • The chevron crafting recipe (upside down T) conflicts with the wooden roof tip recipe when trying to craft more than one at once.
  • Cannot convert wooden floors back to planks with a saw.
  • Yet-to-be-placed blocks don't stack with placed-and-destroyed blocks in the inventory, even manually.
  • Placed-and-destroyed blocks don't open up a handbook entry when they're hovered in the inventory and the handbook hotkey is pressed.

I originally wanted to include the kimberlite and marble variants, but when I checked, and please correct me if I'm wrong, the normal dry stone blocks (not the fences) don't have those variants available either. Because the recipe for the dry stone blocks includes an ashlar block, and those don't exist for kimberlite and marble, in vanilla.

As for compatibility with other mods, I'm going to be honest here, my goal with all of my mods (so far) is to improve upon the vanilla experience. Having to account for other mods that I don't even use is something I'm not interested in. Not only would it require more work on my end, but it would also mean that I then have to keep tabs on whenever those mods update or break anything. And as someone with a full time job and barely any time to play video games let alone modding, I really want to keep my mods simple and self contained. But hey, anyone is free and welcome to create their own compatibility mods and patches. I'm sorry but I hope you understand.

Missing the kimberlite and the three marbles' varients for the Dry Stone flooring. (not a huge issue for me, but someone will want them:))

Also would be good to have compatability with Vanilla Varnished Planks. (I realize you just released the mod, but I really would like compat with VVP. And some will also be wanting compat with Wildcraft Trees eventually)
