Latest file for v1.20.4:
MoreBlueClay_1.0.1.zip 1-click install

The world generation changes in 1.20 made blue clay extremely rare, especially when using Terra Prety world generation. This mod increases the chances for a deposit of blue clay to occur by 10 times (0.009 to 0.09).

Testing this mod with Terra Prety and its recommended settings, blue clay is still uncommon but can be found along ocean shorelines and large freshwater lakes at sea level. Before testing this mod, I never found any blue clay around freshwater lakes and it occurred less than once per 1,000 blocks of coastal shoreline.

This mod may be overtuned for vanilla world generation settings, I have not tested it under those conditions.

This should be server side only as world generation is performed by the server.

Hey, I installed this server side and it does not seem to want to perform a check to ensure all clients connecting also have this mod. Do you have this initalized for server-side only or do clients also need it?

No problem! I'm glad this mod isn't causing the issue.

Dorean on further examination, it seems some other mod is causing this. Haven't figured out which one, but as to your mod, it seems to work the way it's supposed to and doesn't cause newly generated chunks in existing saves to change landscape. Sorry for my initial mistake.

I haven't tested it with existing worlds because I needed to see how much blue clay was being added between frequency increases. However, the world generation never looked different other than some soil blocks being replaced with blue clay when testing it repeatedly with the same world seed. The only change made is to the chance for a blue clay deposit to replace existing soil, so I wouldn't think it would change the landform itself. What differences are you noticing?

Is this mod supposed to be compatible with existing saves? At least from my initial testing, it seems to change the landscape enough to where borders between new and old chunks are clearly visible

Thanks, fixed.

You'll need to update the zip file. Ditch the folder MoreBlueClay_1.0.0 and put the mod files into the root of the zip.

Thank you, I'm starting a new run and will be adding this.

I do not know as I have not played vanilla in 1.20. I increased the rate until I found blue clay occuring at least once on the shores of most of the larger lakes and at infrequent but not rare intervals along coastlines. I used a couple of static seeds to test the changes between each increase as well as a few random seed worlds to get a general idea of the impact of the final value. Blue clay is still uncommon, but walking a shoreline at sea level for 10 minutes should find some instead of the hour or more it took before.

Does this make TerraPretty blue clay rarity similar to vanilla's  rarity?

Just as I was getting annoyed with the lack of blue clay in a Terra Prety world I see this uploaded, thank you so much!
