Latest release (for Vintage Story 1.22.0 - 1.22.3, potentially outdated):
moreashlarblocks-1.1.2.zip 1-click install
Simple mod that adds new variants of the ashlar bricks block.
Two of these variants feature an alternating brick pattern, similar to the running bond pattern seen in the other brick blocks. These are great for large wall sections or external wall corners.
The other variant is meant to replicate the look of two slabs stacked on top of each other. It’s great for supporting structures such as beams and columns.

its pulling recipes and whatnot from the material needs but none of them have textures
Thanks!
Should be fixed now
So I tried my hand at making these variants for the cracked stone bricks using the textures and files you had as a reference and came up with something I'm pretty happy with. it's for personal use and I obviously won't be uploading it as I copied and edited your code instead of writing my own and referenced your textures very heavily (I'm no artist, I used paint to copy&paste existing parts of the texture until it looked right) but I'd be happy to send the files to you somehow if you were interested in seeing if they were good enough to add into the mod? I apologise if that's presumptuous of me
No worries! There is nothing to apologize for, but it is nice to check on other people when it comes to these sorts of things.
From what you're describing I would say to just go on ahead and publish your own mod, I mean, it is your work. Sure you might feel like you're borrowing too much from my mod but it is not like I didn't do the same with the game files. I also did copy and paste the game's textures in order to create my new variants.
As for the code I'm just using the standard json files used by any other block in the game, I think I even copied the vanilla ashlarbrick blocktype file and changed it to support my variant groups. If you want to have your own mod with the same type of variants that I have, that's totally fine by me. Same thing for the recipe files, if you want to have the same recipes for your version of the cracked stone bricks go ahead. Even though I have to admit, I am not 100% happy with my own recipes that I came up with :P
So yeah, I would say go for it. I'm curious to see what you got :)
I love this mod so much, it's so nice to have uniform shapes... though it makes me sad that it doesn't also apply to the cracked variants of ashlar brick blocks as I prefer the texture of many of those to the normal ones XDD
BiggBenn, Right? Trying to build using the vanilla blocks was driving me up the walls! So much so that I ended up learning how to mod the game just to make this mod xD
Ooooh more variants
love this mod.
the irregular pattern of vanilla ashlar blocks almost made me toss an entire chest full of them into the trash :D
Thanks guys, for checking out my mod!
Politehnik, on the topic of adding content in order to match or be compatible with other mods I gave a more detailed answer to that type of question in the comment section of one of my other mods, but long short, no. I don't have the interest nor the time. And I'd prefer to spend my time making more mods.
Great mod, thank you! It should be vanilla honestly.
Do you have any plans to add those block variants for Gelogy additions and/or Material Needs: Geology?
thanks man! i was just looking for a mod like this, now i'm off to go build a new and improved cellar :D
