This mod work at all for 1.22+?

BrodoFaggins, Apr 27th at 4:04 PM

RebelSkull This mod alters the loot content of mobs, not how the loot is harvested.

What you're looking for is any one of these mods:

Drifter Tweak (Includes Shivers & Bowtorn too)

Instant Temporal-Mob Drops

Rust Drops

Any one of the mods above make monsters drop their loot to the ground upon death. Choose the one that suits your needs.

I put this mod on my server, and monsters still drop nothing. I still have to harvest them manually. Is there a command or some way to turn it on or is there something wrong?

I've played with this mod for about 3 weeks so I have experience with it.  I would advise users to be very cautious with this mod, as the rate adjustments tend to cause mobs to rarely ever drop Temporal Gears.

Not sure why the author hasn't provided a write-up, so I'll take a stab at it.  It's hard to summarise due to the sheer number of changes and variances.

  • Drifters, Shivers, Bowtorn
    • Normal / Surface: adds: Flint, Red Clay, Rusty Gears, Flax Fibers, Copper Bits, Limestone Stones, Sticks, Cattails
    • Deep: adds: Obsidian Stone, Salt, Blue Clay, Rusty Gears, Flax Fibers, Tin Bits
    • Tainted: adds: Rusty Gears, Fire Clay, Sticks, Flax Fibers, Bismuth Bronze Bits
    • Corrupt: adds: Rusty Gears, Fire Clay, Flax Twine, Iron Bits
    • Nightmare: adds: Rusty Gears, Flax Twine, Iron Bits, random Jonas item
    • Double-headed: adds: Rusty Gears, Flax Twine, Gold Bits, random Jonas item
  • Locusts
    • Corrupt Sawblade: adds: Rusty Gears, Metal Parts, Metal Scraps, random Jonas item
  • Bells:
    • Adds: Rusty Gears, Metal Parts, Metal Scraps, Tuning Cylinder, random Jonas item

Additional details:

  • Temporal Gear drop rates have been substantially decreased for all mob types.  Or maybe it was increased.  But in weeks of playing I haven't had one mob drop a single TG; maybe just bad luck
  • Rusty Gears -- I forget if Vanilla drops these or not.  If so, then all this is doing is adjusting the rate.  If not, then it's adding them as a potential drop
  • All added items have their own drop rates -- this is why a spreadsheet would be better
  • Harder mobs clearly give nicer items and have higher drop rates

Compare this mod against https://mods.vintagestory.at/monsternuggetdrops or https://mods.vintagestory.at/betterloot in your own time.  I can't tell if people are just copying other mods or what.

P.S. If the author shows up here to correct me on any of this: I urge you to take the time to maintain a spreadsheet with the changes, as most players are not going to sift through 24KBytes of JSON.  Consider putting your code on GitHub etc. so that people can actually see this stuff without having to download a .zip file.  That also means AI etc. could be used to generate a spreadsheet for you, making your life easier.  See https://mods.vintagestory.at/monsternuggetdrops for an example of what I'm talking about, re: spreadsheet/table/chart.

eerino, Jun 2nd 2025 at 3:32 AM

Can you please include what your mod changes? I think it would be used by far more people! What items were changed and what are their percentage changes? Does it add or remove any items? Does it effect the loot pool in any other ways?

Really want to try your mod! I apprechiate you making just what I needed! Just want to be sure I need it first ^-^ lol

So far the loot drops are pretty alright, nothing too glaring. makes it alot more bearable to deal with drifters. :D

Drop tables please?

Domsdoodles, Feb 12th 2025 at 9:57 AM

Would appreciate a changelist on their drop tables

IanDig, Feb 12th 2025 at 4:20 AM

But what DO they drop though? There's like 5 mods that change what rust enemies drop, it helps to know what those changes are.
