Latest release (for Vintage Story 1.22.0 - 1.22.2, potentially outdated):
moatbombs_1.2.0.zip 1-click install
Adds three new bombs that fully destroys blocks and generates water within it's radius only on layers below sea level,
the perfect tool for building boat canals. or boat tunnels!
all recipes are roughly the same crafting cost per blocks destroyed, roughly. this might change later with testing and or feedback.
this mod contains:
"Bucket Bomb",
A tier-1 'Moat-bomb', Auto-floods almost any block space within the (5 blocks) blast radius below sea-level.",
"Barrel Bomb",
A tier-2 'Moat-bomb', Auto-floods almost any block space within the (7 blocks) blast radius below sea-level.",
A tier-2 'Moat-bomb', Auto-floods almost any block space within the (7 blocks) blast radius below sea-level.",
"Chamber Bomb",
A tier-3 'Moat-bomb', Auto-floods almost any block space within the (8 blocks) blast radius below sea-level. Contains a springwound detonator so it doesn't need a firesource. so it's also perfect for underwater use."
This third bomb was designed for a future secret project.
(This one does not have Sympathetic explosion AKA This tier does not detonate when hit by the explosion of another bomb)

I made the vsmc models and pitched this mod idea to tygrys,

Freakyuser396! : helped out with some of the Json files,
Pal-5000 / hYPERION! : helped sort out some of the core code files.
this mod is based on a real sience...

So cool yet so expensive. Is it possible you give us the ability to tweak the recipe to be cheaper?
the rates of blast powder and iron oxide to blocks destroyed is already similar to lower to that of vanilla bombs per blocks destroyed, if you want to make them cheaper based on the resources unrelated to that, either we make a config or someone makes a patch mod to make them cheaper.
how do you light them up? tried the torch but nothing
Thanks in advance
a torch seemed to work fine for me for the bucket and barrel bombs, but I couldn't figure out how to actually set off the chamber bomb
Does it automatically know sea level based on map? Different altitude maps have different sea levels. Is it strictly set to default sea level?
Yes
Hi! Great mod. Love it. I hope that you'll update it for 1.22 soon.
Hello! Will this mod be updated for 1.22.0? We're looking for more ways to use our boats and this looks like the answer to the question "who is going to dig out the waterway between our villages"? XD
beautiful example art that definitely didn't need to be added given the nature of the mod but is VERY appreciated nonetheless. good work ^^
Could this be used to make a pond??
This is one of those things I didn't know I needed but now that I see it....I immediately thought of at least 10 places where I could have used it before.
Imma call it the Teddy Roosevelt special because looks like I'm about to violently create a canal.
In the future when uranium ore can be processed and enriched maybe we can adapt this mod to include a vintage story simulation of Project Plowshare haha
Great work, looking forward to trying it out when it is bumped up for 1.22
Added Expanded-Matter combatibilty.
Buffed crafting output of all moatbomb recipes to double the amount.
Now that shipwright is released, i'll make sure that the mod has support for mods like Expanded Matter allowing recipes to be made with it's powdered oxides that it adds.
(I'll also look into making a mod that lets you harvest hot springs for their sulfer and iron oxide with a shovel or some other tool, and have them regrow those layers too.
hopefully that'll add an early game means to acquire moatbombs before iron / steel age.)
Hell yeah!
Moat bomb explosions currently itemdrop all the blocks they destroy, this is not intended. looking into it.
Might make a config that sets this to disabled by default so that people who do want it can turn it back on after it's changed.
