Requires Player Model Lib
Adds canine like anthro/furry player model. There are 2 options to choose from, with or without model traits.

Known Issues:

This player model does have non standard body and limb proportions making animations added by other mods more or less broken.

You have my permission to make a patch.
If you were to make a fork you would need to keep updating it, you could also make a configlib option and I would add it.

for some reason when i edit 3rd pattern last, entire skin resets, i have no idea why, and i dont have a log (i couldnt find anything related to the problem) but i did manage to make a skin in the end
also i noticed that all color slider that should make texture darker just wont work, i wanted to make eyes darker but only thing i could change was hue

i FOUND OUT what happened, for some damn reason button RANDOMISE can be PRESSED FROUGH setting menue, this is so stupid (and not mod related)

Not sure if that's intended or not but Vulp and Lupine hitboxes are different in a way that with model size set to max, one bonks head against 2 block tall roof and one clips through
Aside of that, absolutely fantastic mod! One I can't play the game without, thank you for an amazing work!

No, becasue most of the feature are added by Player Model Lib itself, so that mod would need to be made for that version.

How are you supposed to do the new eye colors now? i cant seem to select a color for all but the first box on the left and the 4 boxes to the right that dont seem to change anything. The new buttons i cant make sense of.
How does snow/barley/etc patterning change the markings and their color/opacity? i couldnt seem to make a nice cream color without the tint going weird.

I tried again to mess with the eyes using .charsel but after selecting lupine/model size the menu for it turns black behind the character model. The dependancies should be up to date. I'm playing on 1.22.1 with some other mods installed 
Loving all the new customization so much, just wish there was a quick guide/more labels

The word you're looking for is "heterochromia", as in different (hetero) colors (chromia).

Getting repeated CTD with crash reports claiming "The given key "lupines" was not present in the directory."
This mod, Player Model Lib, JSON Organizer Lib, and Overhaul Lib are all on their latest version. Game and server are 1.22.1

Other players on the server who are using custom races (goat race) do not crash until players who are using the lupine join the server. 

Unsure if this applies to the wolp, as no one plays with the wolp on this server.

Lupines only depend on PML, PML depends on JSON Patches lib and Overhaul lib, everything is getting updates every 4 hours or so, you can never be on the newest verison.

You have to update both overhaul lib and player model lib in order for it to work again!

The malefactor mask doesn't seem to adapt to the Lupine model anymore, it uses the vanilla mask. Playing on 1.22.1

i love this mod! but for some reason the lupines have a locked set of classes and i cant choose from a different modded classes i added. is that intentional? im specifically referring to specilized classes by quilladile

Me and a buddy are playing a multiplayer server and I no longer see his character model, at all. Just gone, can't see him holding anything, any armor. Nothing. I really like this mod and I would like to know of troubleshooting steps I could take to possibly fix this. Thank you.

We added it to the server again and changed the model size using the config mod you suggested but editing the size only changes the size of the "lupine" race and not the "wolp" race. Our server owner said it's an issue with the mod and to let you know.

Question, just loaded up this mod in a brand new single player world.  I see the hand models for the lupines...but I also see the original blocky "hand" model underneath it.  So the lupine hand model is phased into the blocky hand.  Any idea why that is?

Amazing mod and we're using it on our server! Could we have a smaller scaling option though. Our kobolds can fit through one block holes and it would be cool if our foxes and wolves were that small as well.

Minor thing, it seems the hairdos don't work for the more carnivorous full-on Lupine take? And I don't mean the "Hair for Wolves" mod, just the standard nape cuts. They do over on the Wolp version.

First class for lupines has hood equiped that disables hair even when "hide clothes" is enabled in character creation screen.
It still does work, you will have to take the hood off.

Version 0.2.0 of lupines should work on 1.21 but I haven't tested it.

Eager to see this updated, because yeah, the clothes textures are almost pure-white otherwise! Seems the model textures (fur and eyes and such) are fine otherwise, at least!

Model's seem to work fine, however most clothing is either missing texture's when wearing or improperly placed on the model. (1.22)

Love this mod, definitely my favorite player model I've come across🐺  Something I've noticed is that the glider doesn't work with it though, the wings don't open at all in flight

Dexapnow It is ultimately your creation so if you think it's best, that is how it should stay. But I will still throw my two cents in and say that I don't think cancelling a model's weakness with a classes strength is necessarily unbalanced. For example, yeah you become a much more mobile blackguard perhaps, but one with default hp instead of increased. So still less survivable than a default blackguard to compensate. I guess the downsides don't really hurt a ranged class like hunter as much, at least when it is vanilla. So that combination could be a little strong. Though I have noticed several class mods give hunter a negative hp trait similar to malefactor which would compound with lupines negative hp and still keep it relatively in check. But I guess it is better to balance around vanilla. Plus if someone really wanted to use a base class they could just go into json configs and change it themselves to get them back. I guess I see where you are coming from.

NightViridis It's becasue of balance, other mods and what comes with combining both traits from model and class. You could take blackguard as lupine and have normal hp with increased mobility, hunter to have 1.43x sprinting speed.

Very impressive model work. I think it could use better integration with combat overhaul on the custom classes, and I don't see why the lupine version with the model traits should only be able to pick from the custom classes. all classes should really still be selectable.

I absolutely love this mod 💚💚 I recently noticed a glitch tho and I'm not sure what caused it.  It's actually growing on me tho so I'd like to know - is it possible to add a docked tail version?  I can send screenshots next chance I get, but one would be no tail and another docked.  I actually really like the classic (floofier, non curled option) but I started to think of some lore for my character and it's just too good to add it back 😭

 

Also, would it be possible to have color options for some of the markings?  The white underbelly would stay the same maybe, but I think adding white/gray options with the current black options would be awesome.  (Primarily thinking of marble or the piebald options.  Socks would also be really fun)

i have to say i loveee the new animations- the run animation is silly (the arms hehe- creature has places to be!) and the leg animations are so gooddd ✨. the sitting animation is soo creature omg i love it, and the tail animations on things really add a lot. i really love how much you're leaning into them just being big creatures with the animations! also, even if they don't fit my own character, the new patterns are really nice!

and to follow up my comment from before, i think the tails and ears look really nice now ✨ it's hard to choose between them!

this is quite a good mod after doing a test run with it, the animations don't seem all broken like the other furry mod I've seen awhile back
I do wish we could use standard noises, IMO not a big fan of the new ones

But I really liked how much it forced me to hunt rather then just farm and the speed boost is REALLY powerful. Having the tailor level of health seems pretty fitting with how strong the speed boost is

Love the animations added but sadly I have to downgrade the mod, largely for cosmetic reasons.

The recent update that hides the head manes when wearing armor just makes my character bald when having armor visibly disabled using hidegear and (maybe?) vanity.

I do need to test it with vanity first as well, I really like my regalia being visible despite all the armor, lol

Heya just as a heads up - the latest update removed my character model's tail as well as now making it so the cannibalism mod leaves the body as 'seraph' corpse instead of when it was a beast.

seems to be  armor clipping issues now since I updated to the latest version? Using Combat Overhaul, which it worked fine with mostly and Visored Helmets worked better before the update too, but now stuff seems more broken than it was before. Any plans for compatibility fixes?

I must say I love this model and I started playthrough using this mod.

But decreased healing effectiveness in fur trait is unrealistic because animals with fur heal faster than humans and those without fur, I think it would be better if decreased healing would be moved into separate trait.

Just wanted to say that this mod is fantastic and really pretty. The way you've completely overhauled the player model is wonderful and must've taken a lot of work to make it look so good. Also love the voice options, the animations, and the unique way you've designed the paws. It's especially impressive that this mod is almost entirely compatible with most clothing mods without installing patches for them. (the only problem has just been dressedtokill's footwear glitching out, which makes sense)

MythHyena I'm going to add textures for ears and tails soon'ish, I wasn't so sure about the fluff part on the tails/body, no one was vocal about it untill now. I can add the fluff part on tails if it's something that players like. First ear variant was unchanged.

some feedback on the update: the new model changes feel off to me. i'm not sure if it's meant to be like this, but the tails and ears feel too plain and blocky now. they used to have a nice multi-color texture depending on what you selected, but now they're just a solid color, and the tail also lacks the fur/fluff it had before. is this a bug or a wip?

Hello. I am not sure quite how notifications work, so I will mention the original mod author Dexapnow.

When using Maltiezs' mod Firearms and another mod Extra Firearms in conjunction with Lupines, aiming down sights with pistols seems to be somewhat misaligned. Thought that you should know. This can be replicated by installing Firearms, Extra Firearms, Lupines, and equipping the "Wheellock Pistol".

Dexapnow I've gotten a few reports from players on our server that this player model's hotbox seems to be broken - they can shoot each other with no damage being taken at all. Friendly fire essentially wasn't an issue with two lupines mob farming in a pit. Not sure what can be done to address this or what we can do on our end.

Wolp race uses same classes as or added by other mods, Lupines are using same traits as vanilla, combat overhaul modifies these traits.
Wolps and Lupines have different hitbox compared to seraph model.

Despite the description here saying that this mod is compat. w/ Combat Overhaul, ingame it seems that the classes available for the Lupine/Wolp (etc.) races do not have weapon proficiencies, despite the Lupine race classes otherwise having identical (or, mostly identical) functionalities to vanilla VS classes.

I don't believe so. It only happens when I make a Lupine/Wolp character. It shows as a weird semi-transparent glitched out bigger version of the base model's tail in character creation, and then as a more opaque white tail once the character is made. It's extremely bizarre.Weird Glitch

can confirm the custom armour crash issue, wasn't crashing me but a player loading in or taking a translocator to a location near me crashed them, after removing my hussar chest,legs, and landsknect burgonet helmet they stopped crashing.

custom armor does crash too, so will have to take the armor off too to fix it, assuming you want to continue using the mod.

 

only vanilla armor will work with this mod.

the vanity mod is a great one if you dont want to see armor all the time in 3rd person.

found out the issue, for sure any custom helmets completely break the mod causing it to crash on load if you are wearing one.

not sure about custom armor but i will test that next.

to fix it and be able to load in you have to uninstall the mod, then load into the game which resets the character to saraph.

then take off the custom helmet and exit out, reinstall the mod, load back in, then use commands or the class grimour mod to remake your character.

We have a player on our server unable to play after the recent PlayerModelLib update as a wolp - they crash instantly and the log mentions "entity head" being an issue. They're wearing the Forgotten Armory Hussar helmet. Could this be a compatbility issue? We haven't seen this kind of error before.

Dexapnow We updated this mod and the others at the same time, It still can't get hit, we'll try a fresh install of the three mods involved and see if that works, the configs for the three mods look fine but something could've broke along the way during updating other mods on the server. 
Will update this comment if that succeeds in fixing it.

MetalTYR I have no idea how a few json files with no code could cause such a serious error, maybe you had old version of PML becasue in new versions models with incorrect texture file aren't loaded and switch to seraph.
FifthStar This should have been fixed after 0.1.0, works fine on my side, maybe you are using outdated overhaul lib or combat overhaul? I will look more into that is if shows up again.

this mod completely broke my game, i spent about an hour narrowing it down to this specific mod, when loading into a world with the player model it would crash, on the one instance i managed to actually not crash while loading, the model textures were completely messed up.

uninstalling the mod fixed the crash issue and forcably resets the player model to broken saraph.

then i used the class grim mod to change my model to a normal not broken one.

not sure what was causing the issues but decided i would let you know.

I would like to give each class it's own little mechanic that player will interact with 24/7 rather than have 30 different variations of the same sliders.
My little made up canine race thingie is not something fully defined by real live or existing concepts, idea about 3 weeks ago was for limiting what can be eaten (and adding more options, bones, raw hide etc) but it's not something that only I should benefit from. I'm gonna be making pr for pml but that will require some time as I'm completly new into all of this.

Model traits should be taken into account as a whole rather than singular stat changes. With each update I'm taking away/reducing negatives based on what players opinion, classes having no negatives are also a resoult of it.

Lack of will to do simple things that I don't see as interesting, will be fixed.

Extremely pet peeve territory, but the "carnivore" diet nerf is really extreme, considering actual wolves and most canines really consistently rely on fruit and veg. In the wild, depending on the time of year, the larger part of their diet can be entirely berries, and they really don't pass up ripe pumpkins or watermelon in captivity, or anywhere. So realistically they're more facultative carnivores, but they can and will eat a herbivore diet if available.
(Ironically, this is true of the vast majority of herbivores - they don't hunt, but if there's easy protein in range, they will go out of their way to eat it. Corpses, bones, baby chicks are all very frequent meals for deer, squirrels, sheep etc.)

I see now there's a new "Wolp" option for playing without the racial traits, and unlocking the default classes, which is nice!
I do feel like while the racial traits are cool, I disagree with some of them and find others too overpowered.
The fact the 3 Lupine class variants have 1 fewer class bonuses, but no class negatives at all is also a bit strong.

I'd like to ask if it's possible for the Wolps to also get the unique gear refits the Lupines get? For example, the Malefactor still uses the non-fitting human mask, instead of the refitted Lupine Scavanger mask. Is that a common issue with gear, or a singular bug due to the addition of Wolps using the base classes?

Issue i've noticed playing multiplayer. The voice is heard everywhere if some one has a lupine player loaded in. So if some one emotes/takes damage as a lupine, everyone hears it as it doesn't get quiet over distance.

CrucialDude Max sateity trait is from PML, by itself I couldn't find any bugs or issues, there isn't anything that I could do to fix it (besides removing that trait) within my mod, but fix is comming from PML side

Sorry for the super late reply, I was out of town. The racial traits conflict with those mods by fithing the sateity max value, since expanded hunger allows you to have an over fill bar that goes pass the vanilla or other mods limits, so whenever that ticks down, it reverts to the race value, when it ticks again it reverts to the expanded stomach value so you're infnetly switching between two different values, making your hunger go up and down. It also give you overlaping bars in the UI. 

 

And yeah, turning the racial traits fixes the issue, just wanted to leave a comment about it cause it was hard to track down what was causing that issue in the first place.

PAMA I HAVE MORE IDEAS MUEHEHEHE.

1.Slight nightvision? It would sorta be simmilar to the nightvision helmet with the slight exception that it wouldnt be as powerful.
2. This one sort of random but. Shedding. Imagine every summer you shed youre fur and you get these fur clumps which you can then use to make twine or maybe clothes!
3.Another idea that i thought would be cool is scent. Upon damaging an animal or player (If theyre wearing armor it wont apply the effect) it would sort of apply a bleed status effect which allows you to track down said animal or player.

For now these are my ideas! Happy hunting yall!

FifthStar New version has a subrace without any traits. I'm constantly decreasing amount of pentalies with each release.
Lupines traits are still on the more op side of things, +30% run speed is a lot allowing you to outpace almost all animals and players.

Good mod btw! like it quite a lot. i don't mind most of the penalties as i usually play with others anyways but i can see where people are coming from when they play alone, the biggest one i feel is the malus to the healing effectivness while also having less HP to begin with. The ''Carnivore'' trait is quite neat overall, but the bonus' vs penalties are quite large, but it makes sense as you're a choosing a race, it should feel different from playing anything else, but i would reduce the penalty to wild crop gathering, as that's a pain to work with, as i like to collect seeds for my group while out hunting.

Katzu Stereo/2 channel is used for global sounds, ambience, and music in games, stuff that "the player hears in their head". Stereo audio is capable of panning by nature of being 2 channels. If the music is coming from a radio around the player, it will be using mono/single channel since it pans the audio the player hears according to its position to the player.

Fearis They're .ogg, but they were exported as stereo audio, instead of mono. Why this allows for the audio to be heard regardless of distance is beyond my knowledge, but changing the .ogg files from stereo to mono in an audio editing software should solve the issue, as the kobold mod has the exact same issue.

Got a few bugs to report.

Voice sound effects reset to default every time the world is reloaded.

The positive satiety offset seems to only apply every other time the satiety meter ticks, this is the same issue that xskills notoriously had with their satiety offset.

The halved satiety gain from vegetables and fruit does not seem to have any effect when eating raw vegetables and fruit.

And on a balance note I believe the lessened chance for wild crop and domestic crop drop rates is far too impactful, especially when playing a blackguard who already has a malus to wild crop yield. I've modified the mod on my end to be a -20% yield rate for domestic and wild crops, as a blackguard this is still quite impactful but I don't mind it. I also find the -50% satiety from fruits is far too much, I've again, changed it on my end to -20%.

 

Other than that, I haven't had any other issues so far and I enjoy the mod.

Valencia Main sprite doesn't have enough space to fit more fluff and tail textures, I could try to compact it but it would be better to do it on a sperate image, but if I do that I would have to add multiple fur colors and pattern options for tail, hair, ears etc

Noooot sure if this was pointed out but i noticed there wasnt any way to change your voice in the selections. Ive found the workaround which is to select seraph first and change your voice there, then back out and create a lupine and it keeps the voice you selected, but it would be nice to not have to. Great mod though! you have no idea how excited i was to see a model like this <3

Any chance to also get the same adition that the kobolds got? That is, the chest options? Had a few people mention there was no way to tell the difference, and having the option would cut down on choices clogging things up like the beasts of men does with its races.

Hey just a heads up, the racial traits of this mod, conflict with the satiety changes of SlowTox, Hydrate or Diedrate and expanded stomach.

Is there a downloadable version where there aren't a bunch of debuffs and it's just similar to normal base game race or something? Or is there a way I can change this? cause this feels unplayable with so many debuffs.. at least for me.. :'3

I love this mod but I feel like if I want to play it i'm going to be fighting tooth and nail for simple things and I just really like the model mostly i'm not trying to create a crazy big server or anything

please remodel, i wanna use this mod so bad but i cant throw it in with combat overhaul (i dont think)
i understand itll take forever and a half, i just wanted to show support for it
also chill if you just dont want to, retexturing every litttle thing would be hell

I will just have to remodel and maybe retexture every clothing and armor, porting shapes from Kobolds won't really work as Lupines have different body proportions, issue will persist.

Dexapnow Only thing is the face clips quite bad as well the legs have some issues too, granted this image is using a visor helmet however it still clips the same for the base versions too. Apologies for not being clear however I feel this still warrants a custom patch.

this is super cool, would probably fit well with a server I'm running but im assuming from the statements it'd have clipping issues with all of the forgotten armory armor sets?

GarnetAnimations PML already has auto rescaling of clothes and armor as a feature made by Maltiez and Caliber, Kobolds have different proportions so models made to fit them wouldn't fit lupines, I can't really use it as there will be the same issues.

Would you by chance be willing to ask Caliber if you could utilize their patches from their Kobold Player Model Redux mod? I would really love to use this with most of the mods they've made patches for & I just noticed they mention you can use their mod for the most part as you see fit. Thank you again for the work you've put in regardless!

I see everyone say go to discord to get help, is it the offical Vintage story server or is there a modding dedicated discord server I am supposed to go to? love the mod and thinks its a great way to make it little harder on yourself when playing even for a new player like me. one problem i have is the ridding animation as it it seems like we are squatting on the mount but that might just be a bug since i am using a horse mod. Also are you planning on adding more customization options or a compatibility with other mods?

 

Here are some customization ideas i had:
braided mane, over bite/under bite, big and small tail, ripped ear and Spots (maybe like a african wild dog)

Saltananda For me it made sence as player has 30% faster sprint speed, I will add config to disable choosen traits maybe in next release

Just a heads-up for anyone planning to use this, hidden in the code is a 2x damage multiplier to the throat and 1.5x to the head. So the -5 HP penalty isn’t the only thing you should be careful about.

IMO the racial nutrition changes are a bit too much. Is it cool to reup this with more balanced nutrition? Full credits and all, just so I don't have to manually send people the edited mod before they join


(simply changing a -0.5 to -0.2 breaks everything)

RachelTGG Only hair, ears and tail will clip into clothing/armor, everything else is resized by pml. I don't plan on adding ability for player to change models.

About armor/clothings, what happens if you wear? Does it clip or just doesnt shown? Also, since they are pretty much werewolfs, would it be possible to make them "change shape" to a vanilla seraph?
