Ice is Ice brings back harvestable lake ice from the old Harvest Ice mod and adds simple, balanced conversions between lake ice and glacier ice.

 

Cut lake ice with a saw, pick it up as a block, and craft between the two ice types without hunting for rare glacier biomes. Two lake ice make one glacier ice, and one glacier ice breaks down into two lake ice. Clean, straightforward, and useful for modded recipes that expect glacier ice.

The mod needs updating. Because it only allows "Naturally Spawned Ice" to be converted or in this case, only the ice spawned from the creative menu. In survival, Once Glacier Ice is broken, it changes form and is treated differently from the natural block. Thus doesn't change to Lake Ice. So, this mod is currently effectively obsolete.

Creo que este será mi mod favorito, en combinación con el mod Food Shelves, que requiere justamente hielo glacial en algunas construcciones

you and me both. i live right on a decent lake but the nearist peaks with ice is like 2 days total trip. 3 with mining. so i rather use winter to my advantage.

You are most welcome lechkingofdead! I needed ice for the same reason and didn't want to travel kilometers to find ice when I have a frozen lake right in front of my cabin. Enjoy!

tbh this i consider a fair way to get new water if ya do use it for such when its disabled with buckets. (because it one has to be winter for lake ice to develop or just water really high up) thus this boon only works in the north. infact im only looking for this mod because it means i can get ice to use witht he food shelves mod. (it has a recipee for both ices to be made into usabelc hunks.) so think you unblestMATT.

@Forthh This mod doesn't effect how lake ice works, so I think it will still create a water source when placed.

I have a question. On my server, there's no way to create new water sources, and I know that breaking a lake ice block creates a water source. Is that possible with this mod? I hope not.
