it's heal-amount, if you use any version that is not 1.0.0

if you use 1.0.0, don't.

Carlito2928, Feb 26th at 7:06 PM

Someone can tell me where in the ‘config’ file I can change the value for healing, please?

Cheeki , Feb 11th at 4:37 PM

MasterRed118

if you are using version 1.0.0, don't.

Use any later version for the config file. Though note I did not test if any later version of the mod works on 1.20.12

MasterRed118, Feb 11th at 4:33 PM

Hey, i installed a version for 1.20.12, it is working, but i cannot find the config file anywhere, and its not showing in mod settings while using config lib either.

Vanilla game has very rare hot springs with specific hot water blocks that damage the player. This mod makes them heal you instead. Does not require external heating, stays hot forever.

ThatLamer, Jan 22nd at 8:28 PM

What's the actual logistics of how this works? Is it just that besides fresh/salty water, theres also a hot spring water source block that stays hot? Or does it need to be reheated/a heat source below?

sablepaws

Sure.

Is it possible to add enabling/disabling transporting the water via buckets to the config options?

Cheeki , Dec 17th 2025 at 12:41 PM

i am now aware of a windows only issue where if you enter the hot water you start dropping frames to unplayable levels.

i am working on it to resolve it by the end of the week.

AzuliBluespots

yep it's the one inside the mod file

Sing

i don't believe the tick rate is easily controllable but i will look into it.

Sing, Dec 16th 2025 at 4:46 PM

Just adding to this: if the tick rate is controlled by the original boilingwater.json, is there a way to add a replacement effect that slows it down?

Example of what we want: instead of healing with a value of 0.001 20 times per second (don't know if it's actually 20), change the value to 0.01, but 2 times per second. Or something like that, to keep the same overtime healing value, over less interactions.

AzuliBluespots, Dec 16th 2025 at 2:51 PM (modified Dec 16th 2025 at 2:53 PM)

I'm not finding the config json anywhere. Is it the one INSIDE the mod file????

I just want to adjust the tick rate.

JasonFinch

no

Dreuu

able? yes. willing to? no.

Dreuu, Dec 8th 2025 at 7:16 AM

Lovely idea, but I'd rather the deadly vanilla springs be left in tact, since they accurately do look that hot. Would you be able to alter the world-gen so there's cooler pools near the hot ones that would instead heal you? I'd think you could just copy the vanilla assets, but just make them slightly darker.

JasonFinch, Dec 8th 2025 at 1:40 AM

does it still damage creatures like drifters?

Cheeki , Dec 5th 2025 at 6:55 PM

LGameD3

if you are asking to disable the healing altogether you can change the value in the .json file to 0

LGameD3, Dec 5th 2025 at 2:20 PM

Hello, is it possible that the water doesn't heal, or how can this be changed?

Cheeki , Nov 22nd 2025 at 10:49 PM

no clue, tested only with vanilla

Balearius, Nov 22nd 2025 at 9:55 PM

Does this work with Waterfall?

SkollDrachen, Nov 22nd 2025 at 3:09 AM

yesssssss thank you so much the previous one for hotsprings like this is so out of date. me and my friends found a water cave under the house we set up and wanted to turn it into a hotspring area. but the water kept killing us. this is perfect!!!!! we got our bath house and relaxation area for those long cold winters. thank you so much

Cheeki , Nov 19th 2025 at 11:41 AM (modified Dec 21st 2025 at 3:16 PM)

@Exmortis

you can edit the hp regen in the json file inside. for balance, since regen stacks (edit: not anymore with 1.1.0)  with how many blocks of water you are in contact with, consider players will usually be in contact with 2 or 4 blocks of water.

a value of 0.004 or 0.005 should suit you well.

Mildred, Nov 19th 2025 at 6:58 AM

Hecking yeah! This is the mod I have been waiting for. I have an onsen set up on a solo somewhere and was always sad, the hot water wasn't usable. This is perfect!

Exmortis, Nov 19th 2025 at 2:59 AM

Thank you for the ability to transport hot spring water with buckets
Time to build my Roman bathhouse.

Is the HP restoration configurable?  We have a few HP buffing mods on our server so it's not unusual for some people to have 50+ hp, and sitting around for 20+ minutes to regen is a bit slow.

Cheeki , Nov 18th 2025 at 6:44 PM

Yes, that is what differs.

Hydromancerx, Nov 18th 2025 at 4:30 PM (modified Nov 18th 2025 at 4:33 PM)

How is this diffrent from the Healthy Hot Springs mod?

EDIT: Looks like the other mod heals 5 HP per min instead of 2HP per min. But i don't think you can transport the water via buckets.
